‘I’m a dorky white woman’: First look at Raygun Netflix doco as trailer drops

Before the 2024 Olympics, Raygun, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, was panicking about her upcoming performance. Her therapist asked what might be the worst that could happen. “The whole world could laugh at me,” Gunn replied.

“She’s like, ‘Do you think that’s reasonable?’ I was like, ‘Oh no’,” the Australian breakdancer says in the opening moments of a trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly.

Dropping on September 1, the documentary’s synopsis says that “nobody, least of all Rachael Gunn, expected to be an Olympian”.

“But as Raygun’s performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics went viral overnight, so did an avalanche of memes, misinformation, and conspiracy theories questioning how she ever got there.”

‘What’s the worst that could happen?’: Netflix launch Raygun doco

If a line from an upcoming Netflix documentary on Raygun is anything to go by, the controversial Aussie breakdancer’s therapist could now be in therapy themselves.

Netflix on Thursday morning released a trailer for an upcoming documentary on Raygun – real name Rachael Gunn – and her journey from academic to Olympian to internet meme.

“Right before the Olympics I went to my therapist, panicked. She was like, ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’,” Gunn said in the clip.
