ICYMI, we’ve officially reached the hot and heavy part of this year’s competition: the MasterChef Austalia semi final.
And in this year’s shebang, the two top dog spots will be up for battle between Aaron Kher, Petro Papathomas and Vinnie Gibaldi.
To secure a spot in the top two, Aaron, Petro and Vinnie must complete a two-course service challenge, with each contestant serving up food for more than 20 hungry diners with the help of newly-minted culinary zaddy, Andy Allen.

It seems mere weeks ago that I started writing up my recaps of the 2026 season of MasterChef Australia, from the first episode, where we met Lydia, who learned to cook using The Australian Women’s Weekly cookbooks and magazines, to the most recent episode, when the contestants were whittled down to the top three.
It’s taken 57 episodes, but we made it! And what a wild season it’s been. We’ve had Robert Irwin sharing his enthusiasm for native Australian ingredients, Jane and Jimmy Barnes showcasing their love of home-cooking, and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in studio talking about her love of seasonal produce (and taking a FaceTime call with Prince Harry).
