    Osaka struggled in her 6-4, 6-2 loss to Maria Sakkari at the United Cup on Friday night.

    The four-time major winner says she began feeling ill over the Christmas period.

    Just over two weeks out from the Australian Open, Osaka was coughing at times during her 6-4, 6-2 defeat to world number 52 Sakkari in Perth on Friday night.

    PERTH, Australia — Four-time Grand Slam singles champion Naomi Osaka is feeling under the weather at the United Cup.

    After losing her first match for Japan against Greece's Maria Sakkari on Friday, Osaka said she got "really sick" over the holiday period and wasn't operating at 100% during the 6-4, 6-2 loss.

    Osaka was coughing at times during the match and appeared to lack energy. She said she likely caught an illness from her 2-year-old daughter Shai.

    "I have been dealing with some health stuff, so I'm kind of just happy to be out here right now," Osaka said. "It's not serious, but I'm not operating at the percent that I want to be operating at, which kind of sucks, because I had a really good offseason so I thought I was going to do really well here."

    At 41 years old, in a couple of days, LeBron is the oldest player currently in the NBA. And although there is no doubt that he can still play at a high level, he is no longer the dominant player he once was and as such, is no longer the best player on his team.

    The problem is, LeBron still thinks that he is the main man on the Lakers.

    Lakers Urged to Split with LeBron James By Former James Teammate

    A 22-year-old Belconnen man has been charged with multiple offences after he allegedly bound and assaulted a man in a Reid unit.

    ACT Policing was called to a unit complex on Ainslie Avenue in Reid at about 9.05am yesterday (Tuesday, 23 December 2025) after nearby workers heard a man calling for help.

    Officers were directed to the unit where the calls were coming from, and the door was answered by a man and a woman, with calls for assistance heard from a second man.

    The man and woman allegedly fled the scene by jumping of a first-floor balcony. The man, a 22-year-old from Belconnen, was arrested a short distance away. The woman was unable to be located.

    Police discovered a bound and gagged man who had allegedly been stabbed after nearby workers were tipped off by cries for help.

    Territory officers were called to a unit in a Reid complex at about 9am on Tuesday, December 23.

    When a man, Tyler Marshall Keppie, and a woman, whose identity remains unknown, answered the Ainslie Avenue door, calls for assistance from a second man could be heard.

    West Australian high school graduates have logged in to find out their ATAR results and for 18 students, opening them held an additional surprise – the highest possible score of 99.95.

    Anaia Kakulas, from Methodist Ladies’ College, opened her results in the backyard with her brother. She had asked him to film her reaction for fun, but never thought she would get the top result.

    “I always thought I would do well and I was aiming for an ATAR of 99, but I never had any expectations beyond that,” she said.

    “As soon as I saw the number I started jumping around, I really couldn’t believe it, and my brother joined in and started jumping around with me too.

    The Tertiary Institutions Service Centre has revealed 10,265 of those students achieved an ATAR, slightly more than in 2024.

    Students from Penrhos College celebrate the end of their schooling journey.

    For 18 students, their results contained an additional surprise – the highest possible ATAR of 99.95.

    Of school leavers in large-enrolment courses, the highest median ATARs were achieved by students completing mathematics specialist (97.00), mathematics methods (92.55), chemistry (90.80), physics (90.60), and literature (88.95).
