Comedy duo will take the stage together in the West End for the first time in 17 years in Cinderella alongside Julian Clary

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are to return to the stage together for the first time in 17 years to play the Ugly Sisters in the London Palladium pantomime.

“It won’t be pretty,” the popular duo predicted in an announcement on Tuesday. “We have wished to play the Ugly Sisters for so many years, it feels this is the fulfilment of a dream – a dream our hearts made.”

The pair began performing together almost 50 years ago after meeting as students at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. They collaborated on a hugely successful sketch comedy series for the BBC and toured together in 1990 and 2000. Their last tour, French and Saunders: Still Alive!, was in 2008-09 and they teamed up again for a podcast, Titting About, in 2020.

The 2026 London Palladium Pantomime – News

Last year I attended more than 100 shows in London. Some amazing, some others great, others so so, others a complete waste of time.
I want to share my passion for theatre with you, and create a place where we can discuss all the shows we get to see in this great city.

Michael Harrison for Crossroads Pantomimes today announces the 11th season of The London Palladium Pantomime, revealing that comedy legends French & Saunders will reunite on stage in the West End for the first time in 17 years in the magical rags-to-riches fairytale Cinderella, running Saturday 5 December 2026 – Sunday 10 January 2027,

They will join London Palladium royalty, Julian Clary, wand in hand as The Fairy Godfather, alongside Palladium Panto favourites Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers and Rob Madge, as London's most spectacular pantomime returns to its most iconic theatre.

Wayne says ‘that’s not our game’ but many disagree as ‘once in a lifetime’ debate splits NRL

Wayne Bennett made his position very clear: “That’s not our game”.

Four years ago Swans and Hawthorn great Lance Franklin was mobbed at the SCG after kicking his 1000th AFL goal.

Wayne Bennett: Alex Johnston’s Record Will Be Earned, Not Gifted | Media Wrap

South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett says the team won't be distracted by Alex Johnston's looming try-scoring record when they face the Roosters, insisting the milestone will happen naturally as the focus remains on executing their game plan.

Wayne Bennett has made it clear that Alex Johnston's pursuit of the all-time try-scoring record won't distract his team from the task at hand against the Roosters this week. Bennett dismissed suggestions that the milestone has become a focus within the playing group, stating the team's preparation remains firmly on their own performance.

"We want him to get there, but we've all got our jobs to do, and we've got all our parts to play in the team. The opposition doesn't give a damn about Alex's record. So why would we focus on it? The bottom line, it'll happen, and when it happens we'll all celebrate."

NSW Premier Chris Minns has for the first time indicated when he intends to call time on his political career, revealing he will not be in parliament when Metro West opens in 2032.

Asked at a media conference for his “dream for how this city looks” in 2032 when the metro opens, Minns revealed that he would not be premier in 2032 and would be a member of the public. There will be an election in 2031.

“Well, I won’t be here, at least in this role, but look, as a citizen, I hope, I genuinely hope, that we can make a massive impact in housing affordability for young people,” Minns said.

Aaron Wiggins Shines as Top Scorer for Bench on Sunday

Aaron Wiggins delivered a standout performance as the top scorer for the bench on Sunday, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 121-111 victory over the Denver Nuggets. His contribution included 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals in just 25 minutes of play.

Wiggins showcased his efficiency on the court with the following statistics:

OKC Thunder Need Aaron Wiggins To Bring Offensive Boost

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the middle of one of their most injury-riddled stretches of the season. Against the San Antonio Spurs, 10 names were present on the injury report.

Those 10 names included multiple key players who have to deal with multi-game issues. Superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, star Jalen Williams and Rising Star Ajay Mitchell have missed and will miss more time with their injuries.

Especially with Gilgeous-Alexander being sidelined through the All-Star break, production from other sources will be crucial for the Thunder to continue their success. Against the Spurs, Thunder wing Aaron Wiggins played great as the first option for his shorthanded team.

How Tom Banton Won The Race For England's T20 World Cup No.4 Spot

Walking off the field with an unbeaten half-century seconds after England had sealed their third T20I series-win in a row must have had an extra level of satisfaction for Tom Banton.

It was the first time he had passed 50 in an England shirt since his recall to the squad a year ago, and came after he was moved up the order. Ordinarily, a promotion into the top four is something a batter would be pleased with, but it was originally seen as a bad omen for his chances of starting the T20 World Cup. With Ben Duckett missing the first two T20Is with an injured thumb, it seemed Banton was the placeholder. Instead, that innings, as well as the 29 off 15 balls he made in the previous match, placed Banton firmly in possession of a place in England’s World Cup middle order, where spots are rarely up for grabs.

Tom Banton Secures England’s T20 World Cup No.4 Spot

Tom Banton’s recent performance secured his place among England’s top contenders ahead of the T20 World Cup.

After a year-long absence from impressive performances, Banton finally passed the 50-run mark in a T20 match for England. His unbeaten half-century came during England’s victory over Sri Lanka, marking their third consecutive T20I series win.

Banton’s move to bat in the top four was initially viewed skeptically, especially with Ben Duckett sidelined due to injury. However, his strong showing in the series has solidified his position. In addition to his half-century, he scored 29 runs in the previous match, demonstrating his effectiveness under pressure.

Taylor Swift not at the 2026 Grammys. What happened?

Shake it off, Swifties: There's a good reason for Taylor Swift to skip the 2026 Grammy Awards.

She had no releases during the Aug. 31, 2024, to Aug. 30, 2025, eligibility window. Since her twelfth album, "The Life of a Showgirl," arrived Oct. 3, the timing shifts her next potential nominations run to the 2027 Grammys.

Swift, now the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, has long been one of the Recording Academy's defining figures.

In 2025, she earned six nominations for "The Tortured Poets Department" but did not win in any category. She presented best country album to Beyoncé and referenced her own 2010 win in the same category, saying she would "never forget standing here, right on this spot" when she accepted that award.
