"The Beast Incarnate" took on Oba Femi at night two of WrestleMania 42 on Sunday, April 19, pitting a battle of heavyweights in the longtime star vs. the future of the business.

It was a sight Lesnar hadn't seen much. After hitting him with his signature F5, Femi got right up and surprised him with a slam. He then delivered a powerbomb to slam Lesnar into the ring. He gets the pin and slays the "Beast Incarnate."

It was a win that showed how dominant Femi is, showing how easy he could take down even one of the biggest srars in the business. But that wasn't all.

Femi's arrival was one of the most anticipated of WrestleMania weekend. The crowd was all the way there for the former NXT Champion to open Sunday night in his battle against WWE's former "Next Big Thing," and the match started with the pair locking up with the classic collar-elbow tie-up to test their strength. Lesnar then picked up Femi to put him in the corner, but was quickly shucked off and clotheslined in disbelief.

The biggest event in all of professional wrestling is back, as the WWE hosts its flagship two-day event, WrestleMania 42, at Las Vegas's Allegiant Stadium.

The first day of WrestleMania action features a full slate of WWE superstars. The first match of the weekend is a six-man tag match, featuring The Usos and LA Knight taking on Logan Paul, Austin Theory and streamer IShowSpeed.

There will also be plenty of title matches, as the Undisputed WWE Championship, Women's World Championship, Women's Intercontinental Championship and WWE Women's Tag Team Championship will all be on the line. But how many of them will change possession?

Cena announced via social media that he will play host of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this year.

The announcement comes less than a month after Cena stirred the rumor mill after hinting that he'd found a way to contribute to WWE following his retirement. Now, the truth is clear. Cena's hosting role gives him an opportunity to remain involved with WWE even after his farewell tour with the company last year.

“Ah, retired life in the sun,” John teased in a March 30 video shared to X, taken on set. “I’m kidding—check out the backdrop. I’m shooting a movie for Netflix called One Attempt Remaining that you can see when it comes out.”

WWE Elimination Chamber is scheduled for February 28, 2026, in Chicago, a show positioned as a key stepping stone towards WrestleMania 42, particularly with its world championship implications. Despite hometown star CM Punk and the traditionally strong appeal of the Chamber stipulation, Meltzer noted that the event had not sold out.

WWE Royal Rumble 2026 predictions, entrants: Picks for who will win each of the 30-person matches

Two superstars will change their fortunes at the WWE Royal Rumble. On Saturday, one man and one woman will secure world title matches at WrestleMania 42.

Every year, the Royal Rumble jump-starts the Road to WrestleMania. Superstars throw each other over the top rope with hopes of winning the Rumble. This year, Cody Rhodes seeks to become only the second superstar to win three Rumbles, a feat achieved only by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. That's a tall task with a stacked field featuring Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu and Bron Breakker.

Nine former world champions are set for the women's Rumble, including Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. Jeff Hardy confirmed on The Budget Cut podcast that he has been working injured. “I’ve been dealing with an injury since we dropped the titles at NXT. I actually got two bulging discs on the left side of my neck…It’s definitely better than it was at first but we’ve been slower for two months now. Naturally, that’s a little stress creator for me but I’m cleared.”

Just a reminder that Smackdown is airing from Berlin and therefore will begin at 2:00 PM ET today.

WWE SmackDown results, highlights (Jan. 9): Drew McIntyre dethrones Cody Rhodes in shocker; Jacob Fatu returns

WWE is back in Europe and delivered back-to-back big three-hour episodes of "SmackDown" to start 2026. Similar to this past Monday's "Raw," Friday's program in Berlin, Germany also featured three title matches, culminating in the much-anticipated Three Stages of Hell main event between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

Among all the ways WWE could have done the right thing, I never expected it to unfold like this — but Drew McIntyre has dethroned Cody Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

The rivals' Three Stages of Hell match was about as WWE formulaic as it gets, starting with the opening singles match. Minimal time was given to that portion of that match, and it somewhat hilariously ended after McIntyre got the pin off a low blow missed by the ref, followed by a Claymore Kick. What's funny is how resilient we've seen Rhodes be throughout his career, especially in recent matches. The guy has survived far worse, yet that combo was just too much after all the emotional turmoil.

The road to Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia has taken WWE to Europe, for a tour that will include main roster television until the Jan. 19 Raw. The two Monday shows (from Düsseldorf, Germany and Belfast, Northern Ireland) will air live in the afternoon in the United States, as Netflix streams the show live from wherever it is. The two Friday shows (today, Jan. 9, from Berlin, and next week from London) will stream live on Netflix for most of the globe — but in the United States, both SmackDowns will air on tape in their usual time at 8 p.m. ET on USA in the United States. And that means spoilers will be available for folks in the U.S. who don’t want to wait (or download Stephanie McMahon’s VPN of choice).
