New Zealand captain Tom Latham opted to bat first against Bangladesh in the first ODI of their three-match series in Dhaka on Friday morning.

There was a delay in the toss because Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons had to pass on a changed team sheet to captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz. This was later revealed to be Mustafizur Rahman being replaced by Shoriful Islam. It later emerged that the last-minute change was because Mustafizur had picked up a knee injury.

That meant a three-pronged fast-bowling attack of Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Shoriful.

New Zealand is currently locking horns with England for their second T20 World Cup Super 8 match at the Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. With three points in their last Super 8 matches, a win against England will help them to secure a top position in the group and qualify for the World Cup semi-final.

Notably, even if they lose against England, it will come down to the Net Run Rate against Pakistan, who have managed one point in their last two games and can only manage to get a maximum of four points in their last match.

Depending on the qualification for the semi-final, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry might return to the T20 World Cup, as he has been granted paternal leave and is set to leave following their match against England.

With six wickets in five matches at an economy of 7.38, Henry is the joint leading wicket-taker for the Kiwis alongside Rachin Ravindra in the T20 World Cup.

After Lockie Ferguson, another New Zealand fast bowler, Matt Henry, will return home for the birth of his child amid the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026. According to nzc.nz, the seamer has been granted paternity leave, and he will travel to New Zealand after the team’s Super 8 match against England on February 27.

In a statement, the head coach of Black Caps said: “Firstly, we are excited for Matt and Holly on the arrival of their second child. It is a big moment for their family, and we are wishing them all the best,” he said.

Lorde, Tate McRae Top Osheaga 2026 Lineup

Montreal’s Osheaga festival will return this summer with Lorde, Tate McRae, and Twenty One Pilots set to headline.

The 19th edition of the three-day fest will take place July 31 through Aug. 2 at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. Twenty One Pilots will headline night one, along with performances from the XX, Geese, Kehlani, and Wet Leg.

McRae tops the bill on night two, which will also feature sets from Sombr, Turnstile, Mt. Joy, and Empire of the Sun. Lorde will close out the festival on Sunday alongside Gunna, Major Lazer, Clipse, and Zara Larsson.

The vast and varied Osheaga lineup also boasts JID, Franz Ferdinand, Little Simz, Viagra Boyz, Of Monsters and Men, Subtronics, Horse Girl, Wolf Parade, Oklou, Finn Wolfhard, Bar Italia, AJ Tracey, Jim Legxacy, Mother Mother, Not for Radio, Amelie Lens, and Malcolm Todd. The festival shared a poster featuring the full lineup on its Instagram on Tuesday.
