Press Release: LFC Welcomes PayPal as Club’s Official Digital Payments Partner

Liverpool FC is proud to welcome PayPal as the club’s official digital payments partner in a new global, multi-year deal. This marks PayPal’s first-ever collaboration with a Premier League club, further positioning the company as the smarter way to pay for football fans globally.

A global leader in digital payments, PayPal has over 400 million active accounts across 200 markets, supporting transactions in 25 currencies. With decades of expertise in secure, fast, and flexible payment solutions, PayPal is set to enhance the way Liverpool FC fans engage with the club and football experiences, both online and in person.

One of the ways this will happen is via PayPal+, the company’s brand-new, first-ever free loyalty programme, where fans can earn reward points when using PayPal to pay for matchday purchases, adding to the experience and elevating engagement. And loyalty will be rewarded. Starting at the Blue tier, consumers unlock Gold and Black tiers as they earn more points, with each tier recognising loyalty with even bigger rewards. Gold and Black tier members enjoy points worth up to 50% more at checkout, along with access to other exclusive Liverpool FC perks.

Liverpool’s New PayPal Deal Aims To Own The Fan Checkout

Liverpool Football Club, valued at about $5.4 billion in Forbes’ 2025 ranking of the world’s most valuable soccer teams, is the latest sports property to partner with PayPal.

In June 2025, the company struck multi-year deals with the Big Ten and Big 12 that route new revenue-sharing payments to student-athletes through PayPal and Venmo. Now, with Liverpool, the focus is different: embedding its new rewards product, PayPal+, directly into the fan experience.

As news of the Liverpool announcement made the rounds earlier today, one Reddit user “Afrikiwi” posed a quip: “What’s the true limit for various ‘Official X Partners’ do we reckon?” Official partners are everywhere, and so are rewards programs. So why this PayPal product, why Liverpool, and why now?

Liverpool announce major new agreement as club set to smash through £300m barrier

Liverpool have confirmed a new multi-year partnership with digital payments giant PayPal as their stable of partners continues to grow. The Reds have signed what is the first-ever collaboration with a Premier League club for the American organisation, who have over 400 million active accounts worldwide.

PayPal now becomes the club's 'official digital payments' partner, which will see the launch of a loyalty programme for worldwide fans to earn points for match-day purchases.

The club say the deal is "set to enhance the way Liverpool FC fans engage with the club, both online and in person" and the new partnership comes hot on the heels of the Premier League champions' agreement with Haier, the high-end home appliance brand, who penned terms at the start of September.
