Just like her husband Mitchell Starc, Australia’s star wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy continues to redefine women’s cricket with a flurry of record-breaking feats.

Most recently, she recorded the most centuries in the Women’s ODI World Cup (four) for Australia. The skillful Australian skipper has also achieved the rare feat of scoring back-to-back centuries in two different World Cup editions —2022 and 2025.

Her masterful 142 against India in the ODI World Cup at Vizag in October helped Australia record their then highest successful chase (331) against the hosts in women’s ODIs.

Wareham's all-round show helps Renegades sink Sixers

Melbourne Renegades 134 for 4 (Wareham 49*, Webb 33*, Brown 2-45) beat Sydney Sixers 130 for 9 (Perry 65, Wareham 3-21) by six wickets

Melbourne Renegades duo Georgia Wareham and Courtney Webb have produced a match-winning partnership to sink Sydney Sixers and keep the defending WBBL champions in finals contention.

The win had significant ramifications ahead of next week's finals, ending Sixers' three-game winning streak and meaning Hobart Hurricanes will finish top of the ladder.

That means Hurricanes will host the final on Saturday week. Adelaide will host Hurricanes tonight at Karen Rolton Oval, with Strikers needing an upset win to stay in the top-four hunt.

Oh. What. Fun. review – Michelle Pfeiffer leads Amazon’s underbaked Christmas turkey

Starry cast, including Felicity Jones and Chloë Grace Moretz, can’t save misfiring cross between Home Alone and The Family Stone

If you’ve already over-indulged in Netflix’s brand of cheap and, overwhelmingly, cheerless Christmas movies this season, then Amazon has something a little meatier to add to your plate. Like Netflix, it also has more than enough tinnily made Hallmark ripoffs (step forward, Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy), but it’s also aiming a little higher with Oh. What. Fun. It’s a more robustly made attempt to recall something we used to see on the big rather than small screen with a cast to match, a starry cross between Home Alone and The Family Stone with an all-new soundtrack from some unusually upper-tier artists.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays put-upon mom in Atlanta-shot Amazon Xmas film

Christmas movies come in a handful of flavors, from Hallmark romance-style fantasies to family-friendly goofs with male protagonists.

Michael Showalter, who directed last year’s fun romance “The Idea of You” with Anne Hathaway in Atlanta, opted for a more screwball comedy with his Amazon holiday film “Oh. What. Fun.,” with the periods incorporated for sarcastic emphasis. The film, which was shot in metro Atlanta, is streaming now on Amazon Prime.

Mitchell Starc becomes only the 2nd player in WTC history to reach 'this' milestone

On Saturday, December 6, Day 3 of the Day-Night Brisbane Test got underway with Australia's tail-enders dominating the first session. The morning belonged to Mitchell Starc as the southpaw frustrated the visitors with his batting prowess.

The left-arm seamer, who has already wreaked havoc with the ball, is also making noise with the bat and slammed his 12th Test fifty. The 35-year-old slammed nine boundaries to bring up this special feat.

Further, Starc also entered the record books as the red-ball talisman joined his teammate Pat Cummins to become the second player in World Test Championship (WTC) history to take 200+ wickets and 1000+ runs.

Full injury report for Joel Embiid, Sixers vs. Bucks on the road

The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday on the second night of a back-to-back looking to pick up a third straight win. They will enter the Fiserv Forum on the heels of a wild win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday thanks to the heroics of VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey.

As the Sixers prepare for the Bucks, the injury report is light. Kelly Oubre Jr. (left knee sprain) and Trendon Watford (left adductor strain) remain sidelined, but Oubre spoke on Thursday and gave an update on his recovery. The 11-year forward out of Kansas is inching closer towards a return.

76ers vs. Bucks Prediction, Odds and Best NBA Prop Bets for Friday, Dec. 5

The Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a last-second win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at home and are now in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks tonight.

The Bucks are coming off a win of their own, upsetting the Pistons 113-109 at home on Wednesday night for their second win in their last three games following a long losing streak.

The oddsmakers have the Bucks as slight home underdogs at the best betting sites on Friday night.

Let’s take a look at the odds, players to watch and my prediction for Friday night’s NBA matchup.

VJ Edgecombe is looking like a player in Philadelphia. The 76ers’ third overall pick has at least 15 points plus assists in all but four of his 18 games this season.

Climate-driven changes in Mediterranean grain trade mitigated famine but introduced the Black Death to medieval Europe | Communications Earth & Environment

The first wave of the second plague pandemic, the Black Death, claimed much of Europe’s human population in just a few years after 1347 CE. While it is accepted that the causative bacterium Yersinia pestis originated from wildlife rodent populations in central Asia and reached Europe via the Black Sea region, reasons for the timing, spread and virulence of the onset of the Black Death are still debated. Here, we argue that a post-volcanic climate downturn and trans-Mediterranean famine from 1345–1347 CE forced the Italian maritime republics of Venice, Genoa and Pisa to activate their well-established supply network and import grain from the Mongols of the Golden Horde around the Sea of Azov in 1347 CE. This climate-driven change in long-distance grain trade not only prevented large parts of Italy from starvation but also introduced the plague bacterium to Mediterranean harbours and fueled its rapid dispersal across much of Europe.

Volcanic eruption may have triggered Europe's deadly Black Death plague

A volcanic eruption around the year 1345 may have set off a chain reaction that unleashed Europe's deadliest pandemic, the Black Death, scientists say.

Clues preserved in tree rings suggest the eruption triggered a climate shock and led to a string of events that brought the disease to medieval Europe.

Under this scenario, the ash and gases from a volcanic eruption caused extreme drops in temperature and led to poor harvests.

To avert famine, populous Italian city states were forced to import grain from areas around the Black Sea – bringing plague-carrying fleas that carried the disease to Europe as well.

Product recall roundup: All the items pulled from Kmart, Chemist Warehouse and Priceline this week

A range of products has been pulled from shelves this week by several regulators. Some of the items were feared to raise the risk of injury, sickness, or death, or because they didn't adhere to strict standards.

They were sold by individual businesses as well as big retailers like Kmart and Chemist Warehouse. Many have taken them away from sale and consumers who purchased them can ask for a refund.

Veteran West Indies Pacer Takes Five-For In First Test After Recall | NZ v WI | Cricket News Today

Kemar Roach became the oldest West Indies bowler to take a Test five-wicket-haul since Courtney Walsh in 2000, taking 5-78 against New Zealand on his return to the side.

Roach struck early in the morning on day four of the match, dismissing Will Young for 23. New Zealand had already scored 448 runs in their second innings, thanks to big hundreds from Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham, and were looking to set the West Indies a huge chase. Roach then made it three wickets in consecutive overs, finding Matt Henry's outside edge before taking a catch off his own bowling to dismiss Jacob Duffy and trigger the declaration.

Kemar Roach celebrates Test comeback with fifer: Key stats

New Zealand have set West Indies a daunting target of 531 runs in the first Test match in Christchurch.
The home side declared their second innings at a mammoth total of 466/8, giving them an overall lead of 530 runs.
While most of the WI bowlers had a hard time in the innings, veteran Kemar Roach walked away with a five-wicket haul.
Notably, the 37-year-old pacer is featuring in his comeback Test.

Roach, who claimed two wickets in his first outing, trapped the talismanic Kane Williamson for 9 to open his account.
Hundreds from New Zealand skipper Tom Latham (145) and Rachin Ravindra (176) then put the hosts in command.
Roach broke the 279-run stand by dismissing the former.
The fast bowler then took three wickets on Day 4 to finish with figures of 5/78 from 22 overs.
