‘Abhorrent’: Private school confirms students accused of raping girl in Sydney home

Sydney private school St Gregory’s College has confirmed two of its students face “abhorrent” allegations they and a third boy raped a girl at a home in Sydney’s south-west suburbs, one week after a trio of eastern suburbs teens were accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old.

The three boys, all aged 17, are accused of raping a 17-year-old girl at a home in the Macarthur region on Saturday. The trio were arrested in raids of homes across the south-west on Wednesday and taken to Narellan police station.

Police will allege two of the boys and the girl were watching a Camden Rams match before going back to a nearby home and drinking alcohol.

Three 17-year-old boys have been charged over the alleged group sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in Sydney's south-west at the weekend.

Police said the girl was allegedly attacked at a home in the Macarthur region on Saturday.

About 7am on Wednesday, detectives carried out search warrants at a number of homes in the area.

Three boys were arrested and taken to Camden Police Station, where they were charged.

One of the boys was charged with 11 offences, including aggravated sexual assault in company, three counts of sexual intercourse without consent, sexual touching without consent and carry out sexual assault with another without consent.

New South Wales police searched several homes in the Macarthur region and seized electronic devices as part of their investigation, they said in a statement on Thursday.

Penny Wong says Australia is "outraged" Israel Defense Forces personnel involved in a strike that killed humanitarian worker Zomi Frankcom have been cleared.

World Central Kitchen has rejected the Israeli military's account of the strike that killed seven of its colleagues, including Australian woman Zomi Frankcom, saying it's "deeply offensive".

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have cleared soldiers who were involved in the strike on the humanitarian convoy in April 2024.

The IDF said there were serious failures that led soldiers to falsely identify a Hamas fighter was travelling in the convoy.

However, it was concluded the IDF commanders' decisions "did not raise reasonable suspicion of criminal misconduct".

The foreign affairs minister, Penny Wong, says the government is âoutragedâ over the decision by the Israel Defense Forces not to pursue a criminal investigation into the strike on an aid convoy in 2024 that killed seven people, including Australian Zomi Frankcom.

In a statement issued this morning Wong says it falls âfar short of the accountability we expectâ and she will call in Israelâs ambassador to Australia, Hillel Newman, and has âdirected Australiaâs ambassador to Israel [Neil Hawkins] to convey our views directly to Israel as the Australian government considers next stepsâ.

Zomi Frankcom: Australia 'outraged' after Israeli decision not to prosecute over killing of aid worker in Gaza

Australia's foreign minister has said she is "outraged" over an Israeli government decision not to prosecute those responsible for the death of aid worker Zomi Frankcom, who was killed in an IDF strike.

Frankcom was an Australian aid worker with World Central Kitchen who was killed in Gaza with six other colleagues by an Israeli airstrike in April 2024.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong said the decision "falls far short of the accountability we expect" and that she would call in the Israeli ambassador.

Australia would continue pressing Israel "for justice for Zomi and her colleagues", she said in a statement on Thursday.

Grok previously placed XRP's base case between $2.45 and $2.80 for 2026. Its optimistic scenario reached between $3 and $5 under stronger market conditions.

However, Grok also produced a much more aggressive scenario after being given a potential JPMorgan XRPL development. That scenario placed XRP between $12 and $25.

XRP Prediction 2026: Kalshi Odds Climb on XRP Hitting $1.5 in 2026

XRP price prediction for 2026 from Kalshi has odds of the asset trading above $1.50 this year at 23%, climbing from 18% just yesterday. This renewed optimism comes as Ripple is trading at about $1 per coin, according to CoinGecko.

This is about 72.6% below its July 2025 all-time high of $3.65. The token had a market capitalization of roughly $62.8Bn, ranking sixth among cryptocurrencies, while 24-hour trading volume was about $779M across 152 exchanges and 470 markets tracked by the platform.

The $1 area remains an important reference point in recent XRP trading. While the available evidence does not support a price forecast of $2 or $0.50, it does indicate a market focused on whether XRP can maintain the $1 psychological level, with fund-flow data remaining subdued.

Australian and Chinese authorities have confiscated almost $100 million worth of illicit tobacco in what federal authorities are touting as a major boost for bilateral relations amid Beijing’s crackdown on the lucrative illegal cigarette market.

Australian Border Force officials, acting on intelligence from Chinese authorities, intercepted more than 100 shipping containers between January and May, 91 of which contained 60 million illegal cigarettes and 60 kilograms of loose-leaf tobacco.
