Mumford & Sons Announce 2026 NZ Shows with New Album Prizefighter

The British Grammy award winning folk-rock band will support their forthcoming new album Prizefighter, joined by special guests Folk Bitch Trio on all dates.

Along the way, they’ve collaborated with legends like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell and Pharrell Williams among others, building genuine creative partnerships. Live performance has defined their story, from global tours and community stopovers to playing the White House. Through creative changes and evolving sounds, the band remains driven by passion, continually finding new ways to connect with audiences.

The 2026 date land in the wake of Mumford & Sons’ forthcoming sixth studio album Prizefighter – out 13 February via Gentlemen of the Road/Island Records – a new chapter co-produced with The National’s Aaron Dessner and featuring guest appearances from Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton and Gigi Perez. Arriving just months after 2025’s Rushmere, Prizefighter finds the band in a remarkably prolific, re-energised phase, and these shows will give fans the first chance to experience the new songs alongside the anthems that have defined their career.

‘Heated Rivalry’ Review: HBO Max’s Horny Hockey Drama Is a Playful Gay Romance for Grown-Ups

'Letterkenny' veteran Jacob Tierney wrote and directed the six-part series about a pair of rising hockey stars who fall into a steamy affair.

Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin entered the NHL in 2005. Over 20 years, the Canadian star and his Russian counterpart have engaged in one of the great rivalries in all of sports. They’ve won titles and medals and scoring crowns, and they’re both still playing (with the same franchises that drafted them), having claimed positions among hockey’s all-time elite.

But what if they were also having an intense, sweaty love affair?

That’s the veiled hypothetical at the heart of HBO Max and Crave‘s new six-part romantic drama, Heated Rivalry, based on the book by Rachel Reid and written and directed by Letterkenny veteran Jacob Tierney — though don’t go in expecting all that many direct similarities to Letterkenny. Heated Rivalry may have some comic elements, because blustery male bonding is often funny, but it’s a sincere, steamy love story for grown-ups — less The Cutting Edge and more Challengers, without the pesky “Zendaya” point of the triangle.

Thousands of Australians losing free-to-air TV access and facing internet issues

Customers of a private fibre-optic network provider say in addition to experiencing regular internet outages, some are also losing access to free-to-air television using their existing technology.

The changes to free-to-air television will impact about 50,000 Opticomm customers across the country, while internet issues are being felt more widely.

Opticomm says the decommissioning of free-to-air television for some customers is due to the technology "reaching end-of-life" and that it is investing in infrastructure to improve internet reliability.

When Leah Wray and her family moved into a new suburb on the outskirts of Darwin in 2023, she was sold on the promise of it being a "smart community" with top-of-the-line underground technology.
