Oasis announce 2027 tour, including return to Knebworth 30 years after historic concerts

After 2025’s wildly lucrative reunion, the Gallagher brothers will tour the UK, Ireland and US, and revisit the Hertfordshire site of their greatest live triumph

From the archive: How did the Guardian cover Oasis at Knebworth 1996? Well … we didn’t

Oasis have finally confirmed new tour dates for 2027, including their long-rumoured return to Knebworth for a run of shows 30 years after they played a historic two nights at the Hertfordshire venue in 1996.

“Start the celebrations!”, the band said in a statement. “After a period of reflection, The Most Damaging Pop Cultural Force in Recent British History” – a quote from a Guardian opinion piece about the band – “has declared itself fit for purpose and will once again return to lift the spirits of the people. Come witness the fitness. It shall be a sight to behold.”

Oasis 2027 tour: How much would tickets cost this time?

Oasis are expected to announce a new run of shows for 2027 today at 4pm… and fans will be hoping that the ticket sale is nothing like the debacle of 2025.

The Manchester rock band found their long-awaited reunion tour the subject of unwanted attention after fans were hit with inflated ticket prices for their UK and Ireland shows.

When tickets for Oasis Live '25 were released, many fans were shocked at having to pay more than double face value, as some standard standing tickets were sold for £355 instead of the expected £148.

Some fans forked out thousands of pounds to see brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher onstage together for the first time since 2009.

Liam Martin celebrated a try with a foul-mouthed spray. Here’s what his mum had to say about it

Liam Martin was unsure what his mother would say to him after he was caught on national TV letting loose a stream of foul language after scoring a try for Penrith against the Roosters on Sunday.

“I’m actually having a coffee with Liam now, and I was just talking to him about that incident,” Maxine Martin told this masthead.

“I was trying to clarify what he said. He told me he was only saying very nice things to all the Roosters players. I have to believe him.

“I was more excited to see the gorgeous photos of Liam and his son Joey after the game. I love them both.”

‘Carrying on like an idiot’: Panthers firebrand expecting call over X-rated spray

Liam Martin will be expecting a scathing phone call from his mum.

In the Penrith Panthers′ gritty 19-12 victory over the Sydney Roosters, Martin was visibly fired up. He crashed over the line to open the scoring for Penrith and spent the evening relentlessly sledging multiple Roosters players in a bid to rattle them.

While celebrating his try, Martin launched a tirade of colourful language at Roosters’ Billy Smith that was accidentally caught on the broadcast for all those that can lip-read.

“Yeah (I’ll get a call). Probably (from my) missus, mum, they’ll probably tell me I’m carrying on like an idiot. Heat of the moment,” he said after the game.

The fugitive property developer Jean Nassif has bragged about taking down his political foes and bolstering the right wing of the Liberal party in calls played to the New South Wales corruption watchdog, as he vowed to “speak [his] heart” at his much-anticipated appearance.

Nassif, 58, appeared on Monday at the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption inquiry via video link from Lebanon.

As part of its investigation into allegations against people associated with the NSW Liberals, Icac is examining the allegation that Liberal figures anticipated receiving $2m in prohibited donations from Nassif in exchange for political outcomes, including damage to the career of the NSW Liberal minister David Elliott, and the removal of the building commissioner David Chandler.

Even for the high theatrical standards of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption, the long-awaited appearance of Jean Nassif on Monday afternoon was next-level stuff.

The former Toplace owner and alleged fraudster dialled in to his appointment with the blockbuster Operation Rosny inquiry shortly before 7am local time. ‘See it as collusion’: How Butters will get to Dogs… despite AFL’s ‘secret deal’ warning

Todd Marshall has reportedly emerged as the potential circuit-breaker in a complex deal that could help Port Adelaide teammate Zak Butters land at the Western Bulldogs, while still allowing the Power to pocket the prized pick No.5 as free agency compensation.

High-profile AFL journalist Tom Morris revealed on Monday evening that the Port utility could be sent to the Bulldogs in a separate trade involving significant draft capital, as the clubs explore how to satisfy each other while still unlocking Port’s access to a third first-round pick.

Bulldogs ‘desperation’ questioned in stunning $18m player trade

The Western Bulldogs got their man, luring star midfielder Zak Butters ahead of rivals Geelong and Richmond, who were also in a race that went down to the wire.

The Cats were reportedly favourites to land the 26-year-old, until the Dogs upped their offer by as much as $3m to a total of $18m over nine years.

However, this has led to some questioning whether the Bulldogs have overpaid for Butters and whether it may come back to haunt them.

Not only will they have to pay the midfielder effectively 11 per cent of their entire salary cap, but they will also have to trade multiple first round picks to Port Adelaide to get the deal done.

Indonesian police say a mother is experiencing 'deep shock and grief' after the deaths of her husband and two children, which is being investigated as a double murder-suicide.

Bali Provincial Police said the bodies of 56-year-old Damien John Shaw, his six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were found inside their bungalow in the popular tourist resort of Kuta on Sunday morning.

In a statement, police said neighbours checked in on the family after a call from the man's wife, who had recently arrived in Jakarta.

Chilling details have emerged after a Perth father allegedly smothered his two young children to death before taking his own life inside a Bali villa.

The horrific scene was uncovered at the Arca Bungalow complex in Legian, close to the well-known Padma Resort, about 10.15am on Sunday, four days after Damien John Shaw’s wife had left the family’s home to travel to Jakarta.

It can now be revealed the frantic mother triggered the gruesome discovery after receiving a haunting phone call from her 56-year-old husband earlier that morning.

While on the phone to Mr Shaw, she heard her terrified four-year-old daughter crying and begging, “stop daddy”.

Damien John Shaw, 56, and his two children, a boy aged six and a girl aged four, were found dead in their home in Kuta on Sunday.

Police said neighbours had checked in on the family after a call from the man's wife, who had become concerned after a phone call with her husband. She was not in Bali at the time.

Australian media reported that police were treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide. Police told the BBC they had not yet determined the cause or manner of death and that further examinations would be carried out.
