WandaVision Creator Jac Schaeffer Is Developing a Stargate Series

"Audit of the Collapse and Convalescence of Minds" by Renan Bernardo

When Amazon bought MGM Studios in 2021, it acquired a pile of movie and television properties. Slowly, it’s been building on those; the Legally Blonde prequel series Elle is one of the projects that arose from that deal. But another property has proved somewhat elusive. In 2023, Deadline‘s reporting on possible Amazon MGM Studios projects included Stargate. At that time, film and TV projects were being considered, “with a movie likely going first.”

Since then, one Stargate project has already risen and faded: Martin Gero’s series, which was announced in 2025 and canceled earlier this year. Now, a new and potentially much more exciting contender has appeared. Variety has the news that WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer is developing a Stargate series.

A Marvel Showrunner Is Leading a New ‘Stargate’ Series for Prime Video

Just when it looked like Stargate‘s next chapter had been shut down, Amazon MGM Studios is having another go. A new series is in development for Prime Video, and this time a creative force from Marvel is taking the reins. It’s quite the change of direction after the streamer abandoned a revival that was already well on its way to production.

That creative is Jac Schaeffer, the creator behind Marvel’s WandaVision and Agatha All Along. She’s developing a new Stargate series for Amazon MGM Studios, following the cancellation of the version announced in November 2025. That earlier project, led by franchise veteran Martin Gero, had received a series order and brought several familiar creative names back into the fold. Then came an unwelcome turn: Amazon scrapped those plans in June 2026.

Judd Apatow will also return as executive producer.

‘Girls’ Shocker: Lena Dunham Sets Revival at HBO With Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke Returning

HBO has greenlit a revival of “Girls,” Lena Dunham‘s beloved and controversial dramedy. The series will return for a limited, five-episode run with production beginning in 2027 — a decade after the Season 6 finale.

“Girls” ran on HBO from 2012 to 2017. With Dunham as creator, showrunner and star, the original series followed a group of friends through the misery and dysfunction of their 20s in New York City. All four core cast members are returning for the revival: Dunham as Hannah Horvath, Allison Williams as Marnie Michaels, Jemima Kirke as Jessa Johansson and Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna Shapiro. Additionally, Andrew Rannells reprises the role of Elijah Krantz.

‘A painful lesson’ – Hamilton apologises as he takes responsibility for strategy gamble in Singapore

Lewis Hamilton has conceded that the decision to stay out on track rather than pit under the Virtual Safety Car during the Singapore Grand Prix was his, labelling it as a "painful lesson".

Lewis Hamilton has stated that he takes “full responsibility” for a strategy gamble that backfired in the Singapore Grand Prix, with the seven-time World Champion calling the move a “painful lesson”.

After starting the race from P3 on the medium tyres, Hamilton was the first driver to make a pit stop when he switched to the soft compound. An opportunity to make a second stop arose when a Virtual Safety Car was deployed, with Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc amongst those to pit.

‘A painful lesson’: Hamilton accepts fault for costly strategy error

The two sides of the Ferrari garage had two very different emotions at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton’s own mistake cost the team a double podium finish.

Charles Leclerc narrowly missed out on victory to a resurgent Max Verstappen and finished second.

Hamilton’s day ended in horribly, as the veteran accepted “full responsibility” for a costly decision to stay out on old tyres to try to make a strategy gamble work.

After starting in third, Hamilton’s rash decision didn’t pay off and the 41-year-old ended the race in sixth place, behind the two McLaren drivers.

Triple-action drug retatrutide delivers major weight loss for people with diabetes, Phase III trial finds

A recent Phase III clinical trial, TRIUMPH-2, evaluated the efficacy and safety of retatrutide, a triple receptor agonist and experimental once-weekly injection being developed to treat obesity and type 2 diabetes. What sets it apart from drugs such as semaglutide (Wegovy), which targets one hormone, and tirzepatide (Zepbound), which targets two, is its ability to activate three hormone receptors at once.

Developed by Eli Lilly, retatrutide mimics GLP-1, which lowers blood sugar and promotes fullness, and GIP, which enhances the body's insulin response and helps reduce body weight alongside GLP-1. It also activates glucagon receptors, adding a third mechanism that increases energy expenditure and metabolic activity, helping the body burn more energy.

Beyond Ozempic? New Weight Loss Drug Shows Stunning Results in Major Clinical Trial

Retatrutide could help tackle obesity and type 2 diabetes together, with an 80-week trial showing substantial weight loss and better blood sugar control alongside more nausea and diarrhea.

A weekly injection beneath the skin helped adults with excess weight and type 2 diabetes lose nearly a fifth of their starting weight, on average, at the highest dose tested. That is a substantial shift on the scale for a population that has generally lost less weight with obesity medications than people without diabetes.

Researchers tested the investigational drug retatrutide over 80 weeks in TRIUMPH-2, a completed phase 3 trial involving 1,152 adults with overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes. Participants received weekly injections of the drug or a placebo, alongside dietary counseling and guidance on physical activity. Eli Lilly, which manufactures retatrutide, sponsored the study, and the findings were published in The Lancet.

Live Nation to sell $730m and €600m in bonds due 2032

Live Nation Entertainment has priced an offering of $730 million and €600 million in senior notes due in 2032.

The US dollar notes carry an interest rate of 7.125% per year, while the euro notes carry a rate of 6.125%.

The company intends to use the proceeds to redeem all of its outstanding 6.5% senior secured notes due in 2027, to pay fees and expenses related to the offering, and for general corporate purposes, which “may include the repayment or repurchase of certain of the company’s indebtedness”, according to Live Nation.

The final offerings differ from the terms set out when Live Nation launched the offering on Tuesday, 6 October; the company stated that it intended to offer $840 million of dollar notes and EUR €500 million of euro notes. This means the dollar offering was reduced by USD $110 million, while the euro offering increased by €100 million.

Why Live Nation Is Doubling Down on Latin America & How Indie Promoters Are Adjusting: ‘Surf the Wave’

The company is shifting from building relationships to owning local promoters, venues, and infrastructure to support the region's growing live-music market.

This July, Live Nation announced a partnership with Cidade Center Norte to develop a new arena in São Paulo. Projected to open by 2028, the 21,000-capacity venue is expected to be Brazil’s first purpose-built arena and the largest indoor live-entertainment venue in South America.

The deal did not arrive in a vacuum: It’s the latest piece of Live Nation’s broader strategy in Latin America, which dates back nearly a decade but has accelerated since the pandemic, to shift from partnering with existing promoters, venue operators and infrastructure companies to ownership stakes in them. To date, publicly announced deals and projects span markets like Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Brazil, as Live Nation seeks to capture more of the region’s growing demand for live music.

Australia's increasingly complex policy and regulatory settings are making investment decisions difficult, the head of Telstra says.

Well-targeted regulation had an important role, but would not alone deliver the higher quality or resilient services that underpinned Australia's productivity, Telstra chairman Craig Dunn told a shareholders' meeting.

As an example, Mr Dunn cited calls for mandatory roaming, which would require mobile operators to offer service to other networks' customers when they moved outside their provider's footprint.

'Best in the world': New Zealand pack eye statement victory

New Zealand forward Erin Clark has declared the Kiwis are out to prove they have the world's best pack when they take on Australia in a blockbuster IRL Rugby League World Cup opener.

Coach Stacey Jones has steadily built up the nation's forward stocks over the past few years and he will roll out an imposing pack at Allianz Stadium on Thursday night.

Led up front by James Fisher-Harris, Naufahu Whyte, Joseph Tapine, Moses Leota and Clark, the Kiwis have emerged as the best pack in international rugby league.

The development comes on the back of a disappointing 2024 Pacific Championships campaign, with Clark one of multiple youngsters to make his Test debut throughout that tournament.

Ronnie Mulitalo – and thousands of New Zealand supporters – are expected to be at their heckling best on Thursday night when the World Cup opener is played in front of the biggest rugby league Test crowd in Sydney in more than 50 years.

Officials confirmed on Tuesday just under 40,000 tickets had been sold for Thursday night’s blockbuster, with Allianz Stadium’s capacity at 42,500.

The biggest Sydney attendance for an international in the NRL era was 34,571 when New Zealand and Australia played in the 2008 Centenary Test at the SCG. The last sellout was 1974 when 55,505 fans saw the third Test between Australia and Great Britain, also at the SCG.

The millennial term Gen Z is calling out as 'passive aggressive.'

Apparently Gen Z want millennials to stop using 'lol' at the end of sentences because they think it's a passive-aggressive sign-off.

Watch: Speaking of millennials, here's why we aren't having affairs (too tired, probably). Post continues below.

It seems we've hit a point in 2026 where someone, somewhere decided that taking our winged eyeliner and mascara wasn't enough.

For the unacquainted, according to posts doing the rounds online, it seems that younger people (particularly professional young people) read 'lol' at the end of a message as passive-aggressive.

You see, as millennials, we are absolute chaos. Everything seems unclear.

We don't know if we're meant to be buying a house or renting a one-bedroom until we die.

    OPINION – GAYLE TIERNEY MP

Backed by a $352 million boost to the road maintenance budget, this work will help improve road safety, reduce damage to vehicles and ensure our regional road network remains reliable for the communities, businesses and freight operators that depend on it every day.

With another fire season approaching, it is also reassuring to see continued investment in the emergency services that help keep our communities safe. The Victorian Government has committed $100 million towards new CFA tankers across the state, ensuring our fire crews have access to modern, reliable vehicles.

The completion of the new CFA stations at Beaufort and Ararat also marked an important milestone. These facilities provide our dedicated firefighters with the resources they need to train, respond and operate effectively during emergency situations. Our CFA members do an extraordinary job protecting lives and property, and they deserve the best possible support.
