Sinner crushes Svrcina in Indian Wells opener

The world No.2 defeated Svrcina 6-1 6-1 in just 65 minutes to set up a third-round match with Denis Shapovalov.

After both players served to love in their opening service games, Sinner converted two of his three break point opportunities and saved one of his own, as the Italian won five consecutive games to take the first set.

Sinner continued that momentum in the second, where he raced into a 4-0 lead as Svrcina had no answer for the Italian's pace and power.

However, Sinner, who is yet to win the title in California, needed five match points to eventually clinch victory as Svrcina held on for as long as possible.

Darius Garland set to make Clippers debut on Monday vs. Warriors

Nearly a month after the blockbuster trade that ended his tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers, All-Star point guard Darius Garland will reportedly make his debut for the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

NBA insider Chris Haynes reported Saturday the 26-year-old Garland, who hasn’t suited up since Jan. 14 while continuing to work his way back from injuries to the big toes on both of his feet, planned to return to the floor for the Clippers’ Monday night meeting with the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers followed with some not-all-that-cryptic social media posts Sunday …

Clippers' Darius Garland: Cleared to play Monday

The Clippers announced that Garland (toe) — who has already been ruled out for Sunday's matchup versus the Pelicans — will be available for Monday's game at Golden State, NBA writer Justin Russo reports.

In what will be his Clippers debut, Garland is slated to make his first appearance since Jan. 14 following a lengthy absence due to a right great toe sprain and left big toe injury management. Prior to being traded to the Clippers on Feb. 4, Garland had averaged 18.0 points, 6.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 30.5 minutes per contest over 26 appearances with Cleveland. Given the amount of time that he missed, Garland is likely to be operating with a minutes restriction Monday, but the Clippers could feel comfortable deploying him in the starting five right off the bat.

Clippers Injury Report vs. Warriors: LA Has Major Injury Advantage in Darius Garland's Debut

The Los Angeles Clippers finally righted the ship on Sunday night against the Pelicans after three straight losses. They inched a little closer to the eight-seeded Golden State Warriors with 23 games left in the season. And on Monday, they are facing the Warriors with an excellent opportunity to cut their lead to 1.5 games.

Not only are the Clippers healthier than ever heading into Monday's game, but they are also facing a very short-handed Warriors. In addition to Jimmy Butler, who is out for the season, the Warriors will be without Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis. Rookie Will Richard is also out, and Gary Payton II is questionable ahead of the game. This means that the Warriors will likely start the game with a Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Gui Santos, De'Anthony Melton, and Draymond Green lineup, with Al Horford and Pat Spencer as the first players off the bench.

South Africa have won the toss and chosen to bowl first against UAE in their T20 World Cup 2026 match on what captain Aiden Markram called a tacky pitch in Delhi. UAE captain Muhammad Waseem said he wanted to bowl first as well.

Weather also played a part in his decision – there was a drizzle just ten minutes before the toss, which forced parts of the ground to be covered.

Having already secured their place in the Super Eight, South Africa made four changes, pretty much emptying out their bench, mainly giving their premier bowlers a rest. They brought in Jason Smith, Kwena Maphaka and Anrich Nortje for their first games of the tournament, and also brought George Linde back. They left out David Miller, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi.

It was meant to be a night like any other, spent eating and laughing in the company of family.

On January 31, Nancy Guthrie visited her daughter, Annie, and played games at her house before she was driven home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni.

He watched from his car as she walked to her garage and safely entered her house in the Catalina Foothills neighbourhood of Tucson, Arizona, police told the New York Times.

It was one of those everyday occurrences that would not have been all that memorable, had it not been the last time anyone saw or heard from Nancy Guthrie.

    India 311 for 3 (George 115, Sooryavanshi 68, Mhatre 62, Omarzai 2-64) beat Afghanistan 310 for 4 (Shinozada 110, Niazai 101, Kanishk Chouhan 2-55, Devendran 2-64) by seven wickets

A classy century from Aaron George, a swashbuckling 33-ball 68 from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and a half-century from captain Ayush Mhatre helped India U-19 ace what looked like a tricky chase with ease and got them an entry into their tenth Under-19 World Cup final.

The odds were against India when centuries from Faisal Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai lifted Afghanistan U-19 to 310 for 4. A target of this size had never before been chased down in Under-19 World Cup history. But the Indian top-order came to the party as they chased down the record 311-target with 53 balls to spare.

South Africa welcomed Quinton de Kock, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje back to their XI for the second T20I after resting them two days ago as they look to close out the series against West Indies. The quartet replace Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Rubin Hermann, Corbin Bosch and George Linde as South Africa look to finalise their T20 World Cup starting XI.

Concerningly, Lungi Ngidi misses a second match despite being available and this being his domestic home ground. Ngidi was seen with heavy strapping during Sunday's SA20 final but there has been no update on his fitness. Kwena Maphaka keeps his place in the XI, which means South Africa have two left-arm seamers in the team. Conditions on the Highveld often call for just one spinner and Keshav Maharaj has been preferred over George Linde.

Captain steers South Africa to success against the Windies

The two sides are meeting in a three-match series in South Africa ahead of the Men's T20 World Cup

South Africa captain Aiden Markram has scored an unbeaten 86 ‍to help his side to a nine-wicket win over the West Indies in the first Twenty20 of their three-match series.

South Africa chased down the Windies' score of 7-173 at Boland Park, securing a comfortable victory with 13 balls to spare as both sides ‌prepare for next month's T20 World Cup.

Markram's runs came off ‍47 balls and he was ably supported by Ryan Rickelton, who made 40 for an unbeaten second-wicket partnership of 93.

Shimron Hetmyer was the top scorer for the Windies, coming in at six to hit a brisk 48 off 32 balls and feature in a 74-run stand with Rovman Powell that ‍saw the tourists post a decent target.

BTS stand to make $1bn as they announce mammoth comeback tour

K-pop idols BTS have announced a globe-spanning, 79-date world tour, marking their return to the stage after a four-year hiatus.

With dates in London, Tokyo, Munich, Sydney and Los Angeles, it's likely to be one of the biggest tours of the year, especially as the band haven't played outside of the US and South Korea since 2018.

Their previous world tour set records for a K-pop act – earning about $246 million (£182 million) at the global box office. Along the way, BTS became the first Korean act to headline Wembley Stadium.

The new tour will kick off with three nights in South Korea's Goyang Stadium on 9 April, 2026, before setting off across Asia, Europe and America.

BTS propelled K-pop to global stardom. Nearly four years later, they’re back

When the world’s biggest K-pop group announced their hiatus in late 2022, they were at the height of superstardom. They regularly topped music charts, won prestigious awards, and arguably transformed the genre into a global cultural phenomenon.

Now, BTS is back – and coming to a city near you. As the clock struck midnight on Wednesday in Seoul, the group announced the dates and locations of a highly anticipated world tour, with their new album expected to release in March – the band’s first in nearly four years.

In what will be their biggest tour yet, BTS will perform across 34 regions, starting in April with multiple concerts in Goyang, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan, before traveling to other cities across Asia, North America, Europe, South America and Australia. The tour is currently scheduled to conclude in Manila, Philippines in March 2027, though a message on the band’s website said more dates would be announced in Japan, the Middle East “and more”.

While the group have been active throughout the global pandemic and performed a small run of shows in Seoul, Busan, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, it’s been a long time since ARMY outside those cities have been able to see the members in concert.

Of course, we have been lucky enough to see the solo projects from each of the members – some of which have included tours in the US, Asia and Europe – many fans have been wondering when we’ll see BTS in Australia again. Luckily, it could be sooner than you think.

When the final whistle blew to confirm non-league Macclesfield's stunning FA Cup upset of holders Crystal Palace, it prompted memorable scenes. Fans poured on to the pitch and lifted captain Paul Dawson into the air.

With his head bandaged after a clash early in a remarkable 2-1 win, Dawson embodied the spirit and character of the whole team as they made light of being ranked five divisions and 117 places below their Premier League opponents.

In terms of the difference in league places, it was the greatest shock in the prestigious competition's long history. Thwe gap was not evident on the pitch – Macclesfield fully deserved the result.

Macclesfield beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to make FA Cup history – as it happened

The non-league side caused one of the competition’s great shocks with a brilliant display to beat the team 117 places above them

Last word belongs to Macclesfield skipper Paul Dawson. Beyond scoring the opener, he was absolutely brilliant today, as pointed out by Wayne Rooney after the game. Here’s Dawson, who sometimes has a naughty word in him but not right now:

I won’t swear! It’s an immense achievement to be honest. I’m proud of the boys, proud of everyone, proud of the fans. You can see what it means to them. It’s a real community club and, yeah, I’m really proud.

'So proud': Emotional Wayne Rooney sends manager brother touching message after Crystal Palace upset

Wayne Rooney has congratulated his younger brother, John, after he led Macclesfield to FA Cup victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

John, five years Wayne’s junior, is in his first managerial job but outfoxed Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace, winning 2-1 after goals from Paul Dawson and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts cancelled out Yeremy Pino’s late consolation.

It is, statistically, the biggest FA Cup upset of all time. Macclesfield and Crystal Palace are separated by 117 places in the football pyramid, the largest ever disparity in an FA Cup victory.

It is also the first time the competition’s holder has been knocked out by a non-league side since Crystal Palace themselves did so in 1909, beating Wolverhampton Wanderers.
