NRL 2026: Titans, Magic Round team: Titans switch up pack as Chargers debut nears

Josh Hannay has made one minor change for Sunday's showdown against the Knights at Magic Round as anticipation builds for the debut of the club's Chargers jersey.

The highly-anticipated retro kit will be in full display at Suncorp Stadium with the heritage design celebrating 30 years since the iconic franchise’s inception.

Moeaki Fotuaika – making his 173rd appearance to draw level with Mark Minichiello as the most capped Titan – has been named to start in place of Klese Haas, who returns to the bench.

Second generation stars Jayden Campbell and Cooper Bai will headline the Gold Coast throwback, with their fathers Preston and Marcus having previously represented the Chargers.

Why Gold Coast has already won the NRL's Magic Round

One of the best parts of Magic Round is going jersey-spotting.

The four-day rugby league carnival at Lang Park is a meeting point for the sport's biggest tragics and there's no better way to prove your bona fides to your fellow sickos than wearing the most obscure kit possible.

There are forgotten one-off strips like the Canterbury Bulldogs Star Wars number, old World Sevens or Auckland Nines eyesores that are so out they've come back in and international jerseys from the farthest flung corners of the footy world.

Match: Wests Tigrs vs Sea EaglesDate: Saturday, May 16th, 2026Kick-Off Time: 3:00pm (AEST)Stadium: Suncorp Stadium

Magic round Saturday kicks off with an intriguing clash between the West's Tigers and the in-form Sea Eagles.

The Tigers have been one if the season's feelgood stories but they've struggled the last two weeks as injuries have taken their toll. Consecutive losses to the Sharks and Storm have taken some of the gloss off the season as they've conceded 96 points in two games. Last week, Melbourne had lost seven straight but they bounced back to beat Wests in a massive result as the Storm simply assaulted them in the early stages.

"These ones are a bit more cautious. One thing we don't want to do is flirt with form for individuals and also the team, and that was a decision medically to make them unavailable and to get them back as quickly as we can, and hopefully that was only the one week."

"They've done everything they have to so far" – Cox

Team Update: NRL Round 10 vs Broncos

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles squad has been trimmed to 20 players ahead of Saturday night's Round 10 match against the Brisbane Broncos at 4 Pines Park, Brookvale.

Dropping out of the squad in the 24-hour update are Jamal Fogarty and Simione Laiafi.

Fogarty has again been ruled out following a minor groin strain which he sustained in Manly's ANZAC Round win against the Eels. As he did last weekend, Walsh will slot straight into the halfback role.

Jackson Shereb is in line to make his NRL debut. If used off the interchange on Saturday he will become Sea Eagle #671.

Zach Dockar-Clay is also a chance of making his first NRL appearance for Manly after being elevated from the reserves to the six-player interchange.

‘Ratbag’ conquers Thurston: How Taumalolo became a pioneer and game changer

Even wearing his school uniform, Jason Taumalolo had “an aura about him”. But what he brought to the North Queensland Cowboys convinced the NRL’s most battle-hardened to entirely change their game.

“[I realised] if I get a quick play the ball and the next ball goes to big Jase, we were a chance of making a good 20–30 metres down field,” James Tamou tells this masthead.

“Before then, because I was playing Origin and all that, I was quite selfish – how many runs I did and metres I made. Everything evolved … into what can I do to make someone else better.”

Dolphins: No changes to the starting 13 but two big inclusions on the bench for Kristian Woolf with Kodi Nikorima and Jeremy Marshall-King named in jumper No.18 and No.19 respectively. The Redlegs built their triumph on the back of a game-breaking seven goal third quarter, after both sides managed just six majors between them in a tight opening half.

South earned a dominant inside 50 advantage of 16-4 in the first term but the hosts’ back six held firm all night, led by an intercept marking masterclass from Aaron Francis and Pierce Seymour.
