Cheltenham Town 0-2 Leicester City: Daka scores first FA Cup goal to help Foxes into fourth round
Patson Daka's goal against Cheltenham was his second of the season for Leicester
Patson Daka scored his first FA Cup goal to help Leicester City ease past League Two side Cheltenham Town and into the fourth round.
The Zambia striker joined the Foxes after the club won the competition in 2021, and it has taken him eight appearances across five campaigns to open his account in the cup.
He found the bottom corner for Leicester's opener against the fourth-tier Robins before Stephy Mavididi made it two with a fine solo effort just before the break.
A chipped attempt from Jordan Thomas demanded the intervention of Foxes goalkeeper Asmir Begovic early in the second half but the Championship club kept control to see out a comfortable win against a side 54 places below them in the English football pyramid.
Preview: Cheltenham Town vs. Leicester City – prediction, team news, lineups
Both looking to move one step closer to an unlikely piece of silverware this season, Cheltenham Town and Leicester City meet in the FA Cup third round on Saturday afternoon.
The Robins picked up a much-needed win in League Two last time out, while the Foxes are attempting to make up lost ground in the Championship promotion race.
After a three-year spell in the third tier of English football came to an end at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, Cheltenham Town have been languishing in the middle of League Two, with another term of mid-table mediocrity on the cards.

“The FA Cup is a beautiful competition and we want to go as far as possible but it was also important to build confidence ahead of our game against Coventry.
