Ruby Rose accuses Katy Perry of sexual assault, singer denies
Model-actress Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her two decades ago.
The "Orange is the New Black" star alleged in a series of posts on Threads Sunday, April 12, that the pop star assaulted her at an Australian nightclub when she was in her 20s.
Rose first commented on a Complex Music Threads post mentioning Perry, saying, "Katy Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a [damn] what she thinks."
In further posts, she thanked fans for their support after sharing her allegation after "almost 2 decades."
"I was only in my early 20s. I'm now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly," she wrote. "Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me."

Katy Perry has denied Ruby Rose’s claim that she sexually assaulted the actress more than a decade ago at a nightclub in Australia.

Rose made the claim against Perry on Sunday night, responding to a post about Perry poking fun at Justin Bieber’s headlining Coachella set. “Katy Perry sexual[ly] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose wrote on Threads.

Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose has accused pop singer Katy Perry of sexual assault in a series of Threads posts on Sunday, April 12.
Rose made the initial allegation in response to a post from the outlet Complex Music about Katy Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s controversially sparse Coachella set, in which the singer scrolled through YouTube and performed alongside videos of himself.
“Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne,” Rose wrote in response. “Who gives a shit what she thinks.”
In a follow-up post, Rose, who is gender fluid and mainly uses she/her pronouns, alleged that the assault happened in her early twenties; Rose is now 40.
