INXS is out, Phil Collins in as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 inductees announced

Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Fela Kuti and Queen Latifah are among the 2026 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The 2026 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have been announced and they include Phil Collins, Billy Idol and Joy Division/New Order.
A notable exception is INXS, who was nominated, but did not make the cut.
First-time nominees to have made it into the hall of fame are the Wu-Tang Clan and the late Luther Vandross, who died in 2005.
More than 1,200 artists, historians and music industry professionals voted on the nominees to come up with the final list.
Oasis among record number of Brits entering Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
A record number of British performers are to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, with Oasis, heavy metal legends Iron Maiden and Sade amongst those voted in.
The total of six British acts out of eight inductees includes Manchester's Joy Division and New Order (who are being treated as one act), Phil Collins (previously inducted in 2010 as a member of Genesis) and rocker Billy Idol.
In the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 40-year history, the previous record for British acts being inducted in a single year was five, when Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies were all honoured in 2019.

Iron Maiden inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for 2026
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation have announced Iron Maiden as one of its inductees for 2026.
“We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too!
It also seems appropriate for the band to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year as we continue our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Run For Your Lives World Tour visiting the Americas and beyond. We would also like to congratulate our fellow 2026 inductees and extend our gratitude as ever to our fans for their loyalty, perseverance and support for over 50 years now! See you all, somewhere on tour.”
