Turkish Airlines orders 10 Cessna Skyhawks for flight academy training
Turkish Airlines has placed an order for a further 10 Cessna Skyhawk aircraft to train future fleet pilots at the carrier’s flight academy.
On April 23, 2026, Cessna’s owner Textron Aviation confirmed a signed purchase agreement from Turkish Airlines Flight Academy at the second day of AERO Friedrichshafen in Germany.
According to Textron Aviation, Turkish Airlines Flight Academy already operates 66 Cessna Skyhawk aircraft, making it one of the largest Skyhawk training fleets in the region.
Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to begin this year as Turkish Airlines looks to expand its training fleet to support growing airline pilot demand across Europe.

Turkish Airlines Cancels Flights to These 18 Destinations
ISTANBUL— Turkish Airlines (TK) has announced a wide-ranging network adjustment for the northern summer 2026 schedule, gradually suspending services to multiple international destinations.
The changes affect operations from its primary hub at Istanbul Airport (IST), as the airline recalibrates capacity across its global network.
The carrier will suspend flights to 18 international destinations across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe between May and June 2026.
The move reflects a strategic review of route performance and operational priorities, with several suspensions extending into the winter 2026/27 season, Aero Routes flagged.
Turkish Airlines will discontinue service to a broad mix of destinations, including Aqaba, Billund, Bissau, Freetown, and Havana.
