Editor’s note (June 21): This article has been updated with the latest audience speculation, fan theories, and spoilers ahead of tonight’s explosive rock-climbing group date between Farmer Zac, Maya, and Miranda. Skip to the Farmer Zac winner theories.
Farmer Wants a Wife has traditionally been a pretty sleepy little show. But this season, Farmer Zac’s contestant, Miranda, is well and truly shaking things up.
Miranda Chopping, a 21-year-old real estate professional, has proven to be one of the most formidable contestants in the reality TV franchise’s history. The former competitive swimmer is approaching this traditionally romance-driven series with the absolute ruthlessness of Cersei Lannister, triggering my memories of being bullied by water polo players in high school. She’s truly the blonde bombshell from hell in a Réalisation Par-dupe dress (for vibes, check out her Instagram). And, I’ve found myself obsessed.
Unpopular opinion: Miranda was right in Farmer Wants a Wife’s messiest episode yet

Episode five of Farmer Wants A Wife 2026 added a little more drama than we’re used to experiencing on the hit show, warning spoilers ahead!
I have been covering this show for the better part of a decade and am well-versed in its lore and parlance. This popular reality show, responsible for 11 marriages and close to 30 children, is getting a little messy this year. And I’m (perhaps controversially) on the side of the villain.

Farmer Wants A Wife's Miranda Says She Stands By Her Controversial Behaviour On The Show
While it was once known as Australia’s most wholesome reality show, recent seasons of Farmer Wants A Wife have amped up the drama by giving at least one contestant each year the so-called “villain edit”. Outspoken 2024 star Daisy Lamb passed the baton to Clarette Goodhead last season, and now it’s clear that Miranda Chopping has been handed the title this year following her controversial behaviour in the first few episodes.
Not only has she declared that she’s not on the show to make friends, but she’s also been called out on social media for bluntly criticising her co-stars, labelling them as “jealous” and saying they’re “serving desperate”. Ouch.
