Simon Cowell facing legal action over ‘napkin’ deal

Music mogul Simon Cowell is facing a High Court challenge in London over a multimillion-dollar business agreement that was reportedly first scribbled down on a napkin, according to newly filed court documents.

The claim has been brought by Ian Rosenblatt, a lawyer who worked as a business adviser to the music mogul from 2018.

Rosenblatt is seeking a percentage of a confidential deal struck in 2025, or alternatively £100,000 in damages for breach of contract.

Cowell has yet to file a defence, and a spokesperson for him declined to comment.

According to Katherine Ratcliffe, representing Rosenblatt, her client helped oversee the transfer of shares in Cowell’s company SyCo Entertainment from Philip Green and Sony back to Cowell himself, leaving him with full ownership from July 2020.
