Elliot Constable has been crowned the winner of Race Around the World, bringing to an end 100 days on the road.

Unlike previous weeks, contestants on the ABC iview series were able to select their own destination for the reboot's finale.

Topping the leaderboard of six filmmakers, Constable has won the crown and funding to produce his own project for the ABC.

After making 10 films in 10 countries in 100 days, Elliot has been announced the winner of the rebooted Race Around The World.

Elliot’s final film, shot in Brazil, secured him the victory. But the video content producer from New South Wales – who beat out Jayden, Lucinda, Kate, Mikaela and William – tells TV WEEK that even though he made the choice to go to Brazil, he had moments when he doubted himself.

Race Around the World: grand final

Sunday marks the Race Around the World finale and all the Racers are back together in studio to hear who won the week.

Host Zan Rowe is joined by resident judge John Safran, original 1997 Race Around The World winner and Australian Story producer Olivia Rousset, legendary film critic Margaret Pomeranz and AACTA award winning filmmaker Danny Philippou.

One filmmaker will claim the ultimate prize of filming a project for the ABC.

Really enjoyed the show, but I am certain the voting by the judges is manipulated so it is close and comes down to the final episode. I understand personal preference but they clearly often don’t vote for the best films in order to keep the top few close in the vote tallies.
