Standing room only as AFL grand final parade kicks off
The threat of rain did little to deter footy fans from swarming Melbourne Park, as the AFL grand final parade rolled past the MCG.
There was a festive atmosphere as Brisbane and Fremantle players smiled and waved at thousands of fans gathered during the parade.
Lions captain Lachie Neale was slightly less animated during the procession, giving brief waves as a smattering of boos could be heard as he drove past.

Fremantle and Brisbane will meet at the MCG on Saturday in what promises to be an incredible finale to the season, as the Dockers chase their first premiership and the Lions hunt their third successive flag.
Then, the Fremantle and Brisbane players will be on show on Friday in the traditional Grand Final parade as final preparations are put in place, finishing at Yarra Park outside the MCG where they will be presented to fans along with the premiership cup.
