See all the award winners from tonight’s Sydney Swans Awards night.
On Thursday night, the Club held the 2026 Sydney Swans AFL Awards at the Sydney Town Hall.
From the Bob Skilton Medal to the Rising Star Award, the evening recognised the contributions and achievements from the 2026 season, acknowledging the individuals across the AFL playing group whose efforts helped shape the year.
The first award of the night was presented to the VFL Development Squad – Player of the Year, Mitch Mellis. Mellis featured in 15 VFL matches this season, booting 14 goals and averaging 21 disposals. The VFL Player of the Year was awarded to Patrick Snell, who featured in 19 VFL games, averaging 17 disposals and five marks.
Sexual assault advocate condemns Swans best and fairest message
A sexual assault advocate has criticised the Sydney Swans’ decision to allow players at the centre of sexual assault allegations to remain eligible for the club’s best and fairest award, after star midfielder Isaac Heeney took home the top honour on Thursday night.
Heeney and teammates Chad Warner, Nick Blakey and James Jordon all featured in the top 10 of polling for the Bob Skilton Medal, which the club earlier this week recast as an award for the Swans’ “most valuable player”.
The four players remain persons of interest in an unfolding investigation by Victoria Police into allegations of sexual assault made by three exotic dancers in a suite of the Pullman Hotel in the pre-dawn hours of August 17.
