The Bulldogs are determined to keep the momentum rolling on Saturday night when they collide with the high-flying Sea Eagles at Accor Stadium. 

Canterbury secured two vital competition points when they ground out a tense victory over Parramatta before last week's bye and they are eager to kick start a charge up the ladder. 

The week off gave captain Stephen Crichton a chance to rest his injured shoulder, while Jacob Kiraz has also been playing through a calf injury. 

Up front, Tongan forward Sitili Tupouniua has been among the club's best and has been devastating after shifting to the edge midway through the year.

Stephen Crichton appears to have shrugged off the shoulder issue which forced him to withdraw from the NSW State of Origin squad after the Canterbury captain was named to line up for the Bulldogs. 

Crichton was originally picked in Laurie Daley's NSW side for Wednesday's game two clash at the MCG, only to be removed from the Blues squad 12 hours later as a result of a lingering AC joint complaint. 

Massive twist as NSW superstar 'quietly dropped' for State of Origin 2

Former NRL player Justin Horo believes Stephen Crichton was actually ‘dropped’ by NSW coach Laurie Daley for State of Origin 2 after he was named to play for the Bulldogs this weekend. Crichton was originally named in the Blues’ squad for Origin 2, but withdrew just hours later.

The Bulldogs captain has been battling a shoulder injury for weeks, and reportedly aggravated it against Parramatta. The superstar centre has reportedly only been training once a week with the Bulldogs, and Daley said he wouldn’t have been able to do any of the contact sessions in NSW camp.

But eyebrows were raised on Tuesday afternoon when Crichton was named for the Bulldogs’ clash with Manly on Saturday night. Many were left questioning why Crichton isn’t playing on Wednesday night but is right to go for Saturday.
