Washington state flags to fly at half-staff for a week in honor of Dolly Parton
OLYMPIA, Wash. — Flags at Washington state agency facilities are being lowered to half-staff immediately to honor and remember Dolly Parton.

Gov. Bob Ferguspm said the action is being taken “pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation” and applies to Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026. Agencies were told to notify field offices and facilities statewide.
The directive also encourages other government entities, individuals, and businesses to join in the recognition.
