Ange Postecoglou was at recent Liverpool home match amid calls for Arne Slot to be dismissed

Ange Postecoglou was among those in attendance at Anfield for Liverpool’s recent defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Australian is a self-proclaimed childhood supporter of the Reds, and it was on his previous visit to L4 that we secured our 20th league title on the day that we beat his Tottenham Hotspur side 5-1 this time last year.

Since then he’s been sacked by both Spurs and Nottingham Forest and has yet to return to management, although he’s since found work in a different capacity.

Ange Postecoglou goes on Liverpool spying mission as new role brings return to England

Ange Postecoglou has returned to Premier League territory to run the rule over Liverpool as part of his new job. It's been a chastening year for the Australian since he led Tottenham to Europa League glory last season.

Postecoglou paid the price for Spurs' 17th-place finish in the Premier League by being dismissed just weeks after that Bilbao triumph over Manchester United. He was then sacked by Nottingham Forest after just 39 days at the helm. However, the former Celtic boss is back at work after being appointed a technical observer by UEFA. One of his first missions saw him check out Arsenal in the Champions League in January, while one of his latest assignments took him to Anfield for Liverpool's second leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Ange Postecoglou’s Anfield visit raises eyebrows amid return to UK

Former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou was recently spotted at Anfield.

Football never really lets you walk away from it – and for Ange Postecoglou, the feeling appears to be very much mutual.

The 60-year-old Australian, who has had a turbulent ride through English football in recent years being sacked by the likes of both Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest, was spotted at Anfield last week.

Postecoglou was in the stands as Liverpool hosted Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final, a night that ended in a 0-2 defeat for the Reds and completing a 4-0 aggregate exit from Europe’s premier club competition.

Aussie 'scapegoat' who was axed over controversial F1 2021 season finale vindicated

Aussie former F1 race director Michael Masi was used as a "scapegoat" following the controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, according to his successor Neils Wittich.

Masi was at the centre of one of the most controversial moments in the sport's history that eventually allowed Max Verstappen to claim his maiden world championship with a last-lap pass on Lewis Hamilton.

Masi allowed a handful, but not all lapped cars to pass the safety car, before ordering it into the pits to allow a one-lap dash at the end of the race to decide the title.

Rare Abu Dhabi 2021 defence made for ‘scapegoat’ Michael Masi

Michael Masi's handling of the controversial, title-deciding 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been defended.

Former F1 race director Niels Wittich has defended his predecessor Michael Masi’s officiating in the highly-controversial 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Masi served as F1’s race director at the FIA but was dismissed following the controversy surrounding the title-deciding 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Masi’s handling of a late safety car period had a direct impact on the outcome of that year’s world championship and was hugely criticised.

The Australian’s failure to apply the regulations correctly led to Max Verstappen overtaking Lewis Hamilton when the race was restarted for one final lap. Red Bull’s Verstappen snatched victory and claimed his maiden world championship in the process, denying Mercedes’ Hamilton a record eighth drivers’ crown.

The Pies' 2025 season had come to an end on the penultimate Saturday of the season, but a key piece of their future was in the process of being uncovered the very next day.

Everyone wearing black and white was licking their wounds, but Shane O’Bree knew he still had a job to do.

It was the day after last year’s Preliminary Final loss at the hands of eventual premiers Brisbane, and the Pies’ National Recruiting Manager was on his way to Tullamarine, eager to board a flight bound for South Australia.

Former Saints player marks impressive AFL debut with goal

ANGUS Anderson has made Coffs Coast sporting history after realising his footy dream.

The former Sawtell/Toormina Saints player made his AFL debut playing for the Collingwood Magpies, during their Gather Round game against the Fremantle Dockers at Adelaide Oval.

The 22-year-old made history as the first male player from both the AFL North Coast competition and Coffs Coast region to play in the AFL.

He took his place in the Magpies midfield alongside superstars Nick Daicos and Scott Pendlebury, where he had 16 disposals, six tackles, five marks, and a goal in an impressive debut.

His magic moment came in the third quarter, slotting home a set shot goal that had his Magpies teammates in raptures as they crowded around him to celebrate.

Fantasy Baseball SP Roundup 4/14: Schultz’s Comical Debut Returns Peanuts

Welcome to the SP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every starting pitcher’s performance from every Tuesday game. I apologize for the jokes written in my delirium in advance. Have questions? Ask me during my office hours on Twitch.tv weekday mornings from 10 am-12 pm ET.

It’s the middle of April, which means teams start calling up prospect pitchers now that they can secure an extra year of team control, and it took me by surprise that Noah Schultz was the first major name to make his debut, with a start against the Rays on Tuesday night. If you picked him up, great! If you started him, then you didn’t follow the PILOT rule, and he unsurprisingly gave you a Debut Downer – 4.1 IP, 3 ER, 3 Hits, 4 BBs, 4 Ks – 6 Whiffs, 32% CSW, 82 pitches (L). But that was yesterday, what about tomorrow Sunday?

White Sox prospect Noah Schultz goes 4-plus innings in MLB debut

CHICAGO — Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz had an uneven major league debut in a start against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night after being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.

The 6-foot-10, 22-year-old left-hander had a jittery first inning when he gave up three runs — with two scoring on his throwing error to the plate — before settling down. Schultz went 4⅓ innings, gave up four runs (three earned), three hits, with four strikeouts and four walks. He took the loss as Tampa Bay won 8-5 for its fourth straight victory.

"I bounced back after the first inning," Schultz said. "Got ahead of the hitters a little bit more. There were nerves in the first inning and nerves the whole time. Things to work on and good to get the first one out of the way."

‘It was a weird, weird time’: How a ‘loudmouth larrikin’ won Australian Survivor

After 45 days in the Samoan jungle, a brutal four-hour and seven-minute endurance challenge, and a shock Tribal Council backstab, Caleb Beeby was voted winner of Australian Survivor: Redemption. The 29-year-old truck driver from South Gippsland in Victoria tells national TV editor Louise Rugendyke about his beef with fellow contestant Jackson Goonrey, the maggots in camp, and how he’s spending his $500,000 prize money.

Congratulations Caleb! How did it feel to finally hear host David Genat read out your name in the live finale?

Look, it was a sigh of relief to get some closure. At that point, I had waited for six months for an answer [filming in Samoa finished in September last year], and I was at the point where I was ready to get told yes or no. Obviously, everybody wants yes, but being in this suspended animation of not knowing or not trusting what you’ve been told is so hard.

Australian Survivor cast shocked by finale twist

This year’s Australian Survivor players were shocked when host David Genat dropped a bombshell following the final Tribal Council in Samoa.

“We didn’t tell the players that there was going to be a live audience finale back in Sydney,” 10 / Paramount executive producer Ciaran Flannery tells TV Tonight.

“We’ve not done a live audience finale since 2020 when covid to put an end to that. That was six years ago, so none of them would have been expecting it.

“The two final players made their pitches. Everyone got up, went and voted, came and sat back down again. David grabbed the urn, brought it back to read the votes, and said, ‘I’ll read the votes back in Sydney,’ and then just turns around and walks out.

Our first run of Australian Survivor with David ‘Golden God’ Genat as host has officially come to an end with someone clocking Sole Survivor status. Here’s who won Australian Survivor: Redemption 2026. This article contains Australian Survivor: Redemption spoilers. You’ve been warned.

After weeks upon weeks of pushing their bodies to the limit, navigating tough alliances and fiery tribal councils, our final two have been revealed and are vying for Sole Survivor.

In this year’s shebang, Caleb Beeby and Jackson Goonrey will be pleading for that title to the jury for the top dog title!

Monday’s national cabinet meeting is not likely to endorse petrol rationing across Australia – but you can see more serious government interventions on the horizon.

The Albanese government doesn’t expect this fuel crisis to suddenly resolve itself.

“Even if this conflict was to end tomorrow, there is going to be a long tail … this situation is not going to end any time soon,” the environment minister, Murray Watt, warned on Sunday.

McRae buoyant about Hill return as Collingwood confirms debutant

Collingwood coach Craig McRae has hinted at a potential shorter-than-expected return-to-play timeline for livewire small forward Bobby Hill.

Speaking for the first time since the 2023 Norm Smith Medalist returned to training after an extended period of personal leave, McRae was reluctant to put an exact timeline on his return, but spoke of the positivity about his return.

“To see Bobby smiling is encouraging for all of us,” McRae said.

“To see him fit and well and healthy, he worked really hard inside, we're conscious he's in pre-season mode now but to the eye I think he's a bit fitter than what we thought he would be, so we're excited to have him back."

Fact check: Was Jacob Elordi deported to Australia amid US visa issues? Debunking viral rumor | Hindustan Times

A claim has gone viral on social media that 'Euphoria' actor Jacob Elordi has been deported to Australia amid issues with his US visa. Elordi, who is originally from Australia, have had issues with visa expiration previously. However, the claims that he has been deported are false, Ht.com can confirm.

The claim originated with a post on the Instagram account outtapocketnews, which claimed that Elordi was purportedly deported "after US immigration officials flagged issues with his visa status." The post claimed that he was briefly detained before "being placed on a flight returning him to his home."

However, there are no reports to suggest that Elordi, who most recently attended the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, was deported. Though the actor has had issues with his US visa in the past, there are no reports of problems with it currently.

One Piece season 2 was worth the long wait

Live-action adaptations of anime have a downright atrocious track record, so when Netflix announced it would be tackling One Piece, one of the most beloved animanga around, there was a healthy dose of skepticism. How could the streamer possibly do such a lengthy and fantastical series justice? It certainly didn’t help that it had butchered one of the medium’s classics, Cowboy Bebop.

But despite these poor odds, the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy made the jump to three dimensions with aplomb, capturing the spirit of its source material in each impassioned speech about impossible dreams and every phone call made using telekinetic snails. Then came a two-and-a-half-year break, which took a bit of the wind out of its sails. Thankfully, the second season—titled Into The Grand Line—was worth the wait. Showrunners Matt Owens and Joseph E. Tracz demonstrate a continued understanding of this tale, and while small cuts here and there dampen a few subplots, the big moments come across with powerful sincerity. Get ready to cry over a bipedal reindeer in a top hat.

One Piece: Season 2 First Reviews: Bigger, Better, Richer, and Even More Engaging than Season 1

When Netflix announced it was adapting the long-running Japanese manga and anime series One Piece into a live-action series, fans were understandably a bit wary but hopeful nonetheless. Thankfully, with original manga author Eiichiro Oda on board as a consultant, the end result was a widely embraced success, with season 1 earning a Certified Fresh Tomatometer score of 86% and a Popcornmeter score of 95%. Naturally, fans couldn’t wait for the second season.

Well, One Piece: Season 2 (aka Into the Grand Line) is almost upon us, and the first reviews for it are even more effusive with praise than they were for season 1, with critics calling it an effective expansion of the story’s world, populated by fun characters and infused with an infectious energy.

‘One Piece’ Season 2 Cast Guide: Everyone Joining the Straw Hat Pirates as They Enter the Grand Line

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of “One Piece” set sail in 2023, introducing a new audience to the sprawling pirate adventure first imagined by creator Eiichiro Oda. The series follows aspiring pirate captain Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his growing crew — the Straw Hat Pirates — as they search for the legendary treasure known as the One Piece.

Season 1 ended with Luffy assembling his core crew — swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), navigator Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson) and cook Sanji (Taz Skylar). After defeating the pirate warlord Arlong and officially claiming their ship, the crew leaves the East Blue behind, setting their sights on the Grand Line — a dangerous and unpredictable stretch of sea where the world’s most powerful pirates chase glory and treasure.
