Heartbreak as Hawks' comeback falls short in overtime loss to Phoenix

It was heartbreak for the Illawarra Hawks after being beaten in overtime by South East Melbourne Phoenix on Thursday night.

The visiting Hawks did well and had chances to win late down the stretch, but a Nathan Sobey-inspired Phoenix came up big in overtime to prevail 124-113.

Sobey finished with an equal career-high 37 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The Phoenix captain was at the heart of a fiery clash late in overtime, but silenced the Hawks with a dunk to secure South East Melbourne's 16th win of the season.
