Sahibzada Farhan called the Hundred "one of the best leagues", which he was "hopeful" of playing in, even as the ECB faces scrutiny over whether the league's new Indian investors will implement an IPL-style shadow-ban on Pakistani players.

Farhan, who is among more than 950 players to have registered for the Hundred's auction in March, has listed his base price at £50,000 (US$67,500). His T20 star has risen exponentially over the past six months after stellar showings at the T20 Asia Cup last year, as well as the ongoing T20 World Cup, where he is the tournament's highest-scorer.

Farhan has Hundred hopes despite Indian owners not signing Pakistan players

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan remains hopeful of securing a contract to play in the Hundred this year, despite reports that the tournament’s four Indian-owned teams will not consider signing players from the country, but he admitted that selection decisions are “not in our hands”.

Farhan, who is the leading run-scorer at the T20 World Cup, is one of 63 Pakistani players on the 710-name longlist put forward for the men’s auction on 12 March. Despite the rumours, more Pakistani players have made themselves available than those from any other foreign nation, with all but two of the country’s 15-man World Cup squad hoping for a deal.

‘Would be a shame’: England captain responds to bombshell boycott report

England captain Harry Brook has commented on reports that four franchises will boycott Pakistan players at the upcoming Hundred Auction, while Ashes icon Michael Vaughan warned it could “make a mockery” of the competition.

Last week, BBC Sport published a damning report that claimed the Hundred competition’s four India-owned franchises will not consider picking Pakistan players at next month’s auction.

According to the report, the Manchester Super Giants, MI London, Southern Brave and Sunrisers Leeds — which as of recently are part or fully-owned by companies that control IPL teams — are planning not to sign any Pakistani players amid diplomatic tensions between the rival nations.
