    Heartbroken, Todd and Angela James slowly walked hand-in-hand into the waves lapping onto the beach under leaden skies.

    Silent but for the sound of the rolling surf, the couple knelt and placed their hands where the body of their only child was found two weeks prior on K'gari (Fraser Island).

    Choking with grief, Angela said in that moment she yearned for a connection with Piper, her beautiful 19-year-old daughter.

    The distraught parents of a backpacker believed to have drowned on a world heritage-listed sand island off the Queensland coast are visiting K’gari as part of their journey to return the remains of Piper James to Canada.

    Todd and Angela James touched down in Brisbane from Vancouver on Tuesday morning – the first stage of their emotional pilgrimage to K’gari (formerly known as Fraser Island).

    The couple declined to speak to press waiting at the airport, though Todd has expressed his grief on social media.

    If you’ve seen Pitch Perfect 2, you likely remember the iconic “riff-off” scene featuring Green Bay Packers players Clay Matthews, David Bakhtiari, T.J Lang, Josh Sitton, and Don Barclay as a competitive a cappella group performing Destiny’s Child “Bootylicious.”

    The moment sounds like something that could only come straight out of a movie — until now. On Wednesday, Jordan Mailata, George Kittle, and Bijan Robinson went Pitch Perfect at San Francisco’s Ferry Building ahead of Super Bowl LX weekend.

    Adam Devine teams with NFL stars for surprise 'Pitch Perfect' moment

    Actor Adam Devine returned to his "Pitch Perfect" roots on Feb. 4 outside the Ferry Building in San Francisco. The new Treblemaker-in-training crew was made up of three NFL heavyweights: Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jordan Mailata.

    Hundreds of fans and passersby crowded around as the four members performed "Eye of the Tiger." Devine said their surprise a cappella troupe is dubbed "The Golden Keys."

    "It felt just like going home," Devine told USA TODAY about singing a cappella. "It's like a warm blanket that is keeping me warm on these cold San Francisco nights. When Marriott told me about this idea, I was like, 'I'm all in.'"

    Five others were hospitalised after "medical episodes" at the trance and techno event at Sydney Olympic Park.

    A crime scene was established and a police investigation is underway. 

    A man aged in his 40s has died and five others were taken to hospital after a music festival in Sydney's west overnight.

    Police said a number of patrons suffered "medical episodes" at Dreamstate Festival at Sydney Olympic Park about 11:30pm yesterday.

    A man has died, and another six people have been rushed to hospital from a music festival in Sydney’s west.

    Police are investigating after a number of festivalgoers suffered medical episodes at the Dreamstate music festival at Olympic Park on Saturday.

    A man in his 40s died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

    Another six people were taken to hospital. One remains in a critical condition.

    Dreamstate is a techno and trance music event held at Sydney Showground. The festival is due to hold another event at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Sunday, and organisers shared a Victorian health warning about high-dose MDMA (ecstasy) capsules circulating in the state on Instagram.

    Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 23 points, and Julius Randle had 17. The Timberwolves have lost three of their last four, all to sub-.500 opponents. Minnesota made just 8 of 33 3-point attempts and committed 20 turnovers while being held under 100 points for just the second time this season.

    Ayo Dosunmu, making his Timberwolves debut after being acquired in a trade with Chicago, had 11 points and two steals.

    In Us Weekly’s exclusive first look at the show, Speedman’s RJ calls himself “the sunshine state’s most lovable PI.” The description seems misleading, though, since RJ is then seen getting punched in the face by an exotic dancer.

    “Business is booming,” RJ quips. “Turns out, murder never takes a vacation.”
