Djokovic promised before this match that he wouldn’t “walk out with a white flag”, especially given the history that is on the line with that elusive grand slam title No 25, and there’s a sense now that, however hard this match-up may be against Sinner, he’s going to leave everything out there in his pursuit of undisputed GOAT-ness. And Djokovic reinforces that message with a hold to love.

Djokovic, now hitting with far more depth and belief, is screaming at himself when he lets an opportunity slip at 30-15 on Sinner’s serve. So instead it’s 40-15. And Sinner makes no mistake from there.

Novak Djokovic has, by no means, played poorly, but the 38-year-old isn’t moving as well as his younger opponent.

It’s hard to tell how much of an impact the blisters are having up until this point.

Can Djokovic mix things up in the second set to find his way back into the contest?

The TV broadcast showed a funny pair of signs in the crowd tonight.

A young woman has a sign that says, “Forgive me father for I have Sinner’d”.

Last night Naomi Osaka apologised for her “disrespectful” on-court interview following her second-round victory over Romania’s Sorana Cirstea, where the two had a heated exchange at the net after the match.

Cirstea appeared to have been annoyed with Osaka pumping herself up and yelling “C’mon” between first and second serves.

“I mean, I tried to play well, I think I hit a lot of unforced errors, but I tried my best. She’s a great player, I think this was her last Australian Open, so, OK, [I’m] sorry she was mad about it.”

Update January 29: Apple has pinpointed the bug responsible for the issue, and a carrier update has been delivered to affected phones. iOS 16.7.13 remains unavailable for download, but the other updates have resumed.

It’s been a big week for iOS. On Monday, Apple rolled out iOS 26.2.1, the latest point update for the current version. Then it surprised everyone by also releasing new versions of iOS 18, iOS 16, iOS 15, and even (for the first time since 2023) iOS 12. These updates to older versions of iOS appear to have been designed primarily to allow iMessage and FaceTime to keep working on older iPhones beyond January 2027, when the certificate would otherwise have expired.

Apple Stops Signing Newly Released iOS Updates for Older iPhones [Updated]

Apple has stopped signing several iOS updates released earlier this week, preventing users from installing them even if they still appear in Software Update. The affected versions include iOS 12, iOS 15, iOS 16, and iOS 18.

On Monday, Apple released iOS 18.7.4, iOS 16.7.13, iOS 15.8.6, and iOS 12.5.8 for older iPhone models, along with iPadOS 15.8.6, iPadOS 16.7.3, and iPadOS 18.7.4 for iPad models.

The updates were intended to keep core system services functioning on devices that no longer receive major iOS releases, as well as fix an issue preventing some devices from being able to make emergency calls. Affected iPhone models include the following:

None of the updates address security vulnerabilities or introduce new features. According to Apple's release notes for the iOS 12 and iOS 15 updates, the main purpose is to replace an expiring security certificate. Without that replacement, services such as iMessage, FaceTime, and Apple Account sign-in would stop working after January 2027, when the original certificate expires.

"I'm alive, the game is still in development" – Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe gives update on Haunted Chocolatier

Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has shared an update on his next game, Haunted Chocolatier.

Haunted Chocolatier was initially announced back in 2021. In May of 2024, Barone said he's "not too concerned with the pressure" of releasing Haunted Chocolatier, stating "it's better to have a delayed game that's actually good than a bad game that's on time".

Then, last year, Barone assured his fans that he is "committed to not working on Stardew Valley" until he's "done with Haunted Chocolatier". Since then, Barone revealed that "the world of Haunted Chocolatier is larger than Stardew Valley", but otherwise word on the anticipated release has been somewhat slim.

'I shouldn’t have announced the game so early,' Eric Barone admits about Haunted Chocolatier, says he had his reasons for doing so but then doesn't tell us what they were: 'The only thing that really matters is that I keep making progress on the game'

Good news: Eric Barone says in his latest Haunted Chocolatier update that he's "been very productive lately" on the game. Bad news: Release date? Haha, no.

Okay, it's not really "bad news" in the way of all the actual bad news out there, and I'm not sure it even counts as mildly disappointing: Barone's been very up-front about taking his time with Haunted Chocolatier, and also that he remains deeply invested in Stardew Valley, the monstrously successful farm-life sim that's still drawing huge player numbers a decade after release.

Cooper Flagg posts 49 points, unprecedented for a teenager, in reunion with Kon Knueppel

No NBA player younger than Cooper Flagg has scored more points than Flagg did on Thursday.

Facing the Charlotte Hornets and his former Duke roommate, Kon Knueppel, Flagg posted a career-high 49 points in a 123-121 loss for the Dallas Mavericks. No teenager has ever scored that many points in NBA history, and it's also a Mavericks rookie record.

The latter record was previously co-owned by Flagg and Mark Aguirre. In a fun twist of fate, the Mavericks were retiring Aguirre's No. 24 on Thursday night.

Live: Alcaraz takes opening set on RLA after Aussies take mixed doubles crown

Australia's Olivia Gadecki and John Peers have successfully defended their mixed doubles title at Melbourne Park, coming from a set down to win in a thrilling 10-point tiebreaker.

Carlos Alcaraz is now on Rod Laver Arena, playing in his first Australian Open semifinal, up against Germany's Alexander Zverev.

Then tonight, 10-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic will take on number two seed Jannik Sinner.

Follow all the action from Melbourne Park in our live blog below.

Alcaraz is going to go down throwing haymakers in this game I reckon. Might as well leave it all out there. He belts his way to 0-15.

Third seed Zverev bidding for first major title after three runner-up finishes

An important game now for Alexander Zverev to consolidate his advantage as he seeks to level up this match.

An ace provides the perfect start, but Carlos Alcaraz makes a return for 30-30.

That's a great point from the German, though, as he directs Alcaraz one way before guiding a volley in the opposite direction on his way to securing a 5-2 lead.

Carlos Alcaraz sees off the first break point, and shuts down the second with an overhead smash into the back of the court.

OKC Thunder Announce Unique Starting Five, Hartenstein Goes to Bench

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a grueling stretch coming up. The team is forced to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight which tips off a stretch of battling the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. There are few roll over options on that list, perhaps just one, with the Bucks. All while being short handed.

Oklahoma City is without All-NBA swingman Jalen Williams, defensive-ace Alex Caruso and top bench bucket getter Ajay Mitchell as the Thunder do get starting big man Isaiah Hartenstein and defensive ace Cason Wallace back into the fold for Mark Daigneault's club.

Justin Martinez: Asked Mark Daigneault about the impact of getting Isaiah Hartenstein back tonight: "It's the point-of-attack defense. It's the pick-and-roll defense. It's what he does for our rebounding. He's an elite offensive rebounder, an elite screener, a great pocket passer and an above-the-rim finisher on the rolls. He obviously brings a lot of stuff to the table for us and kind of expands our optionality as a team, so we welcome him back. We're certainly thrilled to have him back."
