    Aussie singer’s shock split from husband after three years, fans speculate

    Online rumours are all but confirmed after Aussie-born singer Tones and I failed to acknowledge her third wedding anniversary with former bricklayer-turned-stage technician Jimmy Bedford.

    Aussie-born singer Tones and I has reportedly split from her former VFL footballer-turned-stage-technician husband Jimmy Bedford, after three years of marriage. 

    Rumours have begun swirling of potential trouble in paradise between the local-artist turned-ARIA-award-winning singer and her husband after media outlets noticed a deleted Instagram post celebrating the pair's third wedding anniversary.

    The notoriously private singer, who's real name is Toni Watson, also deleted the Instagram post she dedicated to him on their second anniversary in March last year.

    Green entered the event ranked No.7 in the world, just two away from her career-high ranking of five, and hit four-under to finish the day 14-under, two strokes ahead of both Switzerland’s Vanessa Knecht and South Africa’s Casandra Alexander.

    Hannah Green is one decent round away from completing a Nelly Korda-like feat after retaining a two-shot lead at the Australian WPGA Championship in Queensland.

    A second straight 67 vaulted Green to 14 under par entering the final round as Australia's world No.7 chases a rare hat-trick of tour victories on Sunday at Gold Coast's Sanctuary Cove course.

    Green will be odds on to add the Karrie Webb Cup to the Australian Open crown she won last week in Adelaide and the Women's World Championship in Singapore, which was her seventh LPGA title.

    Hannah Green's quest for a third-straight title is in full swing after the world No.7 moved two strokes clear of the field at the midway point of the Australian WPGA Championship.

    The West Australian's hot streak continued at Gold Coast's Sanctuary Cove on Friday, shooting a four-under 67 to sit alone at 10 under entering the weekend.

    It follows a breakthrough triumph at the Australian Open in Adelaide last Sunday and victory at Singapore's Women's World Championship, her seventh LPGA title.

    King stakes claim for Aussie World Cup recall after controversial omission

    Alana King has taken three wickets as Australia claimed a 43-run win over the West Indies in the first T20 in St Vincent.

    King is hoping to get into Australia's T20 World Cup squad after being left out during this summer's T20s against India. 

    Australia currently holds a 1-0 lead in the three match series, with the second match commencing on Saturday morning at 9:30am (AEDT).

    Alana King has staked her claim to be in Australia's T20 World Cup side, taking three wickets to help bowl her side to victory against the West Indies.

    Mooney was the star of Australia's batting innings, hitting a 55-ball 79 as she appeared the only batter to find rhythm on the Arnos Vale Stadium surface.

    In a curious innings that saw Australia struggling at 2-57 at the midway point of their innings, Mooney alongside Ellyse Perry flipped the switch dramatically following the drinks break, piling on 84 runs from the next seven overs.

    Spin wizard’s magical spell creates World Cup dilemma as sloppy Aussies spill SIX catches

    Alana King’s impressive return to the national T20 side has created a selection dilemma ahead of Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign in the United Kingdom.

    On Friday morning AEDT, Australia secured a comprehensive 43-run victory in the first T20 against the West Indies in St Vincent, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

    Chasing a 165-run target for victory at Arnos Vale Ground, the hosts could only manage 6-121 after King muzzled the top order in a probing spell of 3-14 from four overs.

    After removing rival captain Hayley Matthews for 11, the leg-spinner dismissed both wicketkeeper Shemaine Campbelle and veteran Deandra Dottin in a game-changing double-wicket maiden, restricting the West Indies to 4-76 after 13 overs — and the Caribbean side never recovered.

    Aussie teen forced to wait for Olympic final as heavy snow wreaks havoc

    Heavy snow has wreaked havoc on day 11 of the Winter Olympics, with several Australians having their events postponed for the day.

    Sixteen-year-old Ally Hickman — the second-youngest member of the Australian team at the Milano Cortina Games — will contest the women's snowboard slopestyle final from 12:30am AEDT on Thursday.

    Four Australians — Danielle Scott, Abbey Wilcox, Airleigh Frigo and Sidney Stephens — will now compete in the women's aerials qualification at 8pm on Wednesday AEDT.

    Reilly Flanagan will make his Olympic debut in the men's aerials qualification 24 hours later.

    On the towering slopes of Livigno in Italy on Sunday, 16-year-old Australian Ally Hickman was a green and gold blur, securing herself a spot in the Olympic women’s snowboard slopestyle final.

    She will compete for a medal in the finals on Tuesday – but thousands of kilometres away at her Sydney high school, the teenager is already a legend.

    Around the school, Ally is everywhere: there are massive cardboard cutouts of her face and giant yellow letters spelling out her name.

    Moguls master Woods snatches gold medal for Australia

    Cooper Woods has stunned himself as well as the moguls world by coming from nowhere to win gold, claiming Australia's first medal of the Milan-Cortina Olympics.

    The 25-year-old had never even won a World Cup event and didn't advance through the first qualification in the top 10.

    He topped the second qualification round on Thursday morning and then shocked the field to also gain the No.1 ranking for the final, meaning he came out of the gates last.

    All-time greats Mikael Kingsbury of Canada and Japan's Akuma Horishima were the skiers to beat and when Woods's score lit up it was the same as Kingsbury – 83.71 – but the Australian had the higher turns score giving him the gold.

    Aussie dollar to hit the ‘mid-70s’ as RBA raises interest rates

    The sudden surge in the Australian dollar above US71¢ is expected to continue for the next few months at least, but some strategists warn the rally could rapidly unwind as the US currency starts to reassert itself.

    The Aussie dollar touched US71.47¢ on Thursday, its highest level since February 2023 and extending its rally already this year to a massive 7 per cent, buoyed by a weaker greenback and an interest rate increase by the Reserve Bank of Australia last week.

    The Aussie dollar is soaring – but there’s a hidden headwind

    When Australians invest in global markets, they are essentially making two decisions at once. The first is an investment call on the underlying asset. The second, which is often overlooked, is a currency bet.

    For many investors, it’s this hidden currency exposure that can come as a surprise. Movements in the Australian dollar can quietly add to or erode returns from international investments and have the potential to overwhelm the performance of the asset itself.

    If the Australian dollar rises by 10 per cent against the US dollar, the value of that investment falls by roughly 10 per cent when converted back into Australian dollars, even if the underlying shares have not moved. The opposite is also true: if the Australian dollar falls, unhedged offshore investments receive a boost.
