    In the past four weeks, many teenagers who were already active on platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat report little meaningful change. Some accounts were suspended, but many were not. Others were quickly reactivated through obvious workarounds – parental accounts, altered age settings, or alternative verification methods.

    Wawrinka opens farewell tour with comeback win at United Cup

    PERTH, Australia — Stan Wawrinka's 40-year-old legs didn't let him down over three-plus hours in his first singles match of a 2026 farewell tour Saturday.

    Three-time Grand Slam singles champion Wawrinka beat Arthur Rinderknech of France, who is ranked 29th to Wawrinka's 157th, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5). The match went 3 hours, 16 minutes.

    Wawrinka announced in December that this year would be his last on the ATP Tour.

    Ahead of his first match, Wawrinka said he hoped to move back into the top 100 before he retires. His highest ranking was No. 3, achieved when he won the Australian Open in 2014.

    ICC hands down punishment for 'unsatisfactory' MCG pitch

    The ICC has rated the MCG pitch for the Boxing Day Test as "unsatisfactory".

    It is the second-lowest possible rating and means the MCG will incur a demerit point as a venue.

    The pitch for the Perth Test, which also finished inside two days, was rated as "very good", the best of the four categories.

    It ended as it was always supposed to, with a scrum of Australian cricketers in the middle of the Adelaide Oval, leaping and hugging and screaming in celebration of Ashes victory.

    The overnight headlines pitched a foregone conclusion and Australian coronation, and had you slept through everything that happened in the four hours before that mid-pitch convergence, you may have assumed you missed the procession.

    England's backbone, belatedly fortified, took Australia about as far as it could have ever hoped to. With little more than a bit of determination and some respectful batting, England whittled the chase to under 200, under 150, under 100, all the way into the pits of Australian stomachs.

    The key moments that turned Ashes in Aussies' favour

    England were left to rue their inability to 'seize the moment' as they surrended their Ashes challenge in 11 days' play, so what were those series-defining key moments?

    With the Ashes series decided before Christmas, the Bazball autopsy is certain to be thorough.

    Were England deficient technically? Tactically? Mentally? Or perhaps all of the above? 

    Well, according to the England leadership, a larger factor than both the batters' shot selection or bowlers' lines and lengths was their side's inability to "seize the key moments".

    What makes a moment? It's a subjective term, but it's effectively a passage of play that could last a full session or a single ball. They're the mini-battles and periods of time that determine the outcome of the match.

This team has repeatedly been referred to as “not the strongest Australian side”, “not vintage” or “not as good as earlier teams”. This team has at times been called too old, too outspoken, too injury-affected and even, bizarrely, too woke.

    About 2.10pm local time in Adelaide, they sealed the destiny of the Ashes in the space of three matches, or, by another measure, just 11 days. It was emphatic.
