HEAT ADD QUICK TO SQUAD | Host Strikers Tomorrow

The Brisbane Heat have maintained their squad for tomorrow night’s KFC Big Bash League clash with the Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba.

The Heat have added left-arm paceman Oli Patterson to their squad of 14, after he missed Brisbane's loss to the Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval in Canberra earlier this week.

The Heat’s last Gabba match was the memorable record-breaking victory over the Perth Scorchers last week when the home side successfully completed a record run-chase.

Tomorrow night’s game features the return of former Brisbane Heat frontman Chris Lynn, now with the Strikers.

Paceman Xavier Bartlett will again captain the side after taking over from the injured Nathan McSweeney (ankle) against the Thunder.

Strikers make one change to squad traveling to Brisbane

The Adelaide Strikers have named their 13-man squad to face the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on December 27.

Harry Manenti retains his place in the squad alongside fellow local replacement player Jerrssis Wadia, who made his debut last match.

After an impressive victory in the season opener vs the Sixers, the Strikers fell short against the Stars in their second game.

Skipper Matt Short made his first fifty of the competition, while Hassan Ali claimed two scalps, but the Stars sealed a six-wicket victory with 11 balls to spare.

Alex Ross drops out of the travelling party as the sole change.

Sydney Thunder Women will host Brisbane Heat Women in the 35th match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2025 at Drummoyne Oval in Sydney, on December 3, with Thunder holding a slight edge as the higher-ranked side desperate for points.

Sydney Thunder sit seventh on the points table with 2 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no-result from 8 games (NRR -0.520), coming off a six-wicket defeat to Sydney Sixers where Heather Knight top-scored with 65 off 47. Brisbane Heat languish at the bottom with 0 wins, 7 losses, and 1 no-result (NRR -0.911), losing their last outing by six wickets to Adelaide Strikers after posting 149/9, led by Nadine de Klerk‘s 25 off 13.

The Sydney Thunder are officially out of the tournament now, with five losses after eight games, and just five points on the board so far, it has been a struggle for the Thunder.

Their leading batters have been Heather Knight and Tahlia Wilson while Phoebe Litchfield has been the most aggressive of them. Her bowling has been led by Shabnim Ismail and has been supported by Chamari Athapaththu and Samantha Bates.

The other side to have struggled, the Brisbane Heat are at the risk of being the first team that has gone winless through the season, a fortune they would like to change.
