From shopping and dating to content creation, these days it feels like there is very little that you cannot do with your smartphone. Netflix’s latest original K-drama, If Wishes Could Kill, pushes that reality just a little bit further.

What if there were an app that could grant your deepest desires? In the world of this series, that app exists and it is called Girigo. There is just one catch: once your wish is granted, a 24-hour timer starts ticking, and it is curtains once it hits zero.

If Wishes Could Kill Ending Explained: What's the Truth Behind Girigo's Curse? Does It End?

If Wishes Could Kill Ending Explained: This Netflix horror thriller limited series ends on a bittersweet note, showcasing the downsides of greed and desires. Although viewers are meant to believe that the curse is broken, some indications say otherwise. With emotions mixed in the tragedy, this is a story of haves and have-nots, as it showcases close friendships being destroyed thanks to resentment and insecurities.

The YA horror series has 8 episodes, each with a runtime of around 45 minutes.

Girigo isn’t just an app; it’s a doorway for a curse to exist that plays with the desires of those who make the wish. In episode 6, we see how Kwon Si-won and Do Hye-ryung’s relationship started to transform from innocence to something more terrifying, steeped in jealousy, resentment and revenge. As a result, a dangerous fight merges an unfinished curse into technology, resulting in lives being destroyed.

Full circle: Narrative could not be more fitting for Melksham

It is a milestone that some may have thought may not come when Melbourne veteran Jake Melksham started this season running around in the VFL for the Casey Demons.

But Melksham’s resilience and determination have never been in question, and despite being 34 as the Demons build a new gameplan around youth and breakneck speed, it hasn’t taken him long to force his way into new coach Steven King’s team.

And after starring against Gold Coast last week with five marks, four goals and a turn-back-the-clock screamer, his career comes full circle when he plays his 250th AFL match – fittingly against his former club Essendon at Gather Round.

Melksham's 250 | Veteran is feeding off young Demons' energy

Fresh off a four-goal game Jake Melksham refuses to look backwards on his long career

JAKE Melksham is relishing the fresh energy around Melbourne as his exuberant young teammates continue to confound the critics under new coach Steven King.

The Demons (3-1) are firing with King at the helm and will start favourites in Melksham's 250-game milestone when they take on his former club Essendon in Gather Round.

It comes after an off-season of upheaval shifted the focus towards the next wave of players who could lift Melbourne back into premiership contention.

"For the first time in a little while the youth and energy among the younger guys is outweighing that older, more experienced player," Melksham said.

Milestone man lauds young Dees’ energy

Melbourne veteran Jake Melksham believes the Dees' young group is invigorating and infectious for the seasoned player at the club.

Speaking on Tuesday at the MCG ahead of his 250th game in Gather Round, Melksham praised the energy that new coach Steven King has brought to Melbourne which has resulted in a 3-1 start to 2026.

"It's super energetic and when I look around when I'm out on the field and at training, for the first time in a long time, I think the youth and energy is outweighing the older, more experienced players and there are a lot of guys who have been on the fringe in previous years that are really providing value to our team," Melksham said.

Europe could face fuel shortage by April as Iran throttles supplies, says Shell boss | Energy industry

Wael Sawan warns of pressure on diesel and petrol if strait of Hormuz does not reopen to oil and gas shipping

Europe could face a shortage of energy and fuel as soon as next month without a reopening of the strait of Hormuz, Shell’s chief executive has said.

The boss of Europe’s biggest oil company said it was working with governments to help them address the oil and gas supply crisis, which has already led to energy rationing in Asian countries.

Oil prices dipped back to about $100 a barrel on Wednesday from highs of about $114 at the start of the week, on the back of reports that the White House had sent a 15-point peace plan to Iran’s leaders.

The chief executive of Shell has warned that Europe could experience energy shortages before the end of April. He indicated that jet fuel supply has already tightened, with a potential diesel squeeze and tighter gasoline supply to follow as the continent approaches its peak summer demand period.

The executive explained that supply pressures initially affected South Asia before moving to Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and increasingly into Europe. He emphasized that energy security is a fundamental component of national security. Europe's current difficulty stems from a lack of preparedness for global developments, leaving the region in a reactive position rather than building long-term resilience.

When and who McGregor could fight as comeback confirmed… and why this time it’s for real

Conor McGregor has confirmed he is set to return to the UFC, declaring “the rumours are true” as plans firm for a blockbuster comeback during July in Las Vegas.

The controversial Irish superstar, who has not fought since suffering a shocking leg break in 2021, says he is ready to “save fighting again” after completing his anti-doping ban.

PPV: UFC 327 Prochazka vs Ulberg | SUN 12 APRIL 11AM AEST | The UFC’s undisputed light heavyweight championship will be on the line, when Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg meet for the vacant title at UFC 327 | Order Now with Main Event on Kayo Sports.

McGregor had been slated to face Michael Chandler in June 2024, only for the bout to collapse when he was forced out with an injury.

Jon Anik: Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway rematch 'makes so much sense'

Max Holloway's wishes for a rematch against Conor McGregor have a good chance of being answered from the perspective of UFC commentator Jon Anik.

Longtime UFC lead play-by-play man Anik is awaiting news about the octagon return of former two-division champion McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), who hasn't competed since breaking his leg in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

"The Notorious" nearly made his comeback in July 2024 against Michael Chandler, but pulled out of the fight on less than three weeks' notice with a toe injury. There's been spurts of momentum since then, but perhaps no more so than now, with McGregor recently declaring he's targeting UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

LOS ANGELES — Just as Luka Doncic's case for MVP was picking up steam, the Los Angeles Lakers' star was whistled for his 16th technical foul of the season Friday against the Brooklyn Nets and will face a one-game suspension if it is upheld.

Doncic and Nets forward Ziaire Williams were assessed double techs with 5:12 remaining in the third quarter after jostling with one another following an offensive foul called on Doncic.

A video review showed Doncic pushing Williams and Williams retaliating by swiping back at Doncic's face. Both players were called for a technical foul by crew chief Sean Wright.

Could Cyclone Narelle come as far south as Perth?

Tropical Cyclone Narelle has re-intensified over the Indian Ocean and is threatening to put Western Australia next on its hit list.

The question is when, and where it will make its crossing — and could it make a rare crossing as far south as Perth?

The destructive system has already made a mammoth — and somewhat unusual — journey across the top of Australia, hitting both Queensland and the Northern Territory.

A WA crossing would make it the first cyclone in more than 20 years to make three separate landfalls across the two states and a territory.

Here's what we know about how it's managed to sustain the strength to make such a long trek across Australia.

Tropical Cyclone Narelle was again intensifying into a severe storm off Western Australia’s Kimberley coast on Wednesday with communities in the state’s world heritage-listed Shark Bay preparing for a potential direct hit on Friday night.

Narelle had made a rare trip for a cyclone system by forming in the Coral Sea off Queensland and maintaining structure all the way west to the Indian Ocean, where it was expected to build into a major category four system.

EXCLUSIVE: Joby Aviation's Biggest Risk Isn't The Aircraft — It's The Vertiport Bottleneck

Joby Aviation, Inc has become a centerpiece of the air taxi narrative, with investors focused on certification timelines and aircraft performance. But that focus may be misplaced. The bigger risk isn't whether these aircraft can fly—it's whether they'll have enough places to land.

"Without vertiports, there is no Advanced Air Mobility," Skyports Infrastructure CEO Duncan Walker told Benzinga in an exclusive email interview. eVTOLs are designed for short, urban trips, but without a dense network of landing and charging sites in convenient locations, the model quickly breaks down.

If passengers need to spend 30 minutes reaching a vertiport, the time advantage disappears, Walker noted.

Rate rise could be just the start, as Trump’s war turns desperate

The Reserve Bank’s expected decision to raise rates on Tuesday is likely to be just the beginning of protracted pain for Australia as petrol prices compound its domestic inflation problem.

The Reserve Bank had plenty of inflation worries well before the US and Israel decided to trigger a global economic crisis. Now the Iran war weighs even more heavily on the central bank’s unpopular role as Australia’s financial disciplinarian.

Inflation has been climbing rather than falling, with headline annual inflation at 3.8 per cent and the spike in oil prices certain to drive that higher.

Anil Kumble and Faf du Plessis on the spinner's diminishing returns in the last four games (1:55)

The world's top-ranked T20I team is in the final of the T20 World Cup. They've got there with the world's top-ranked T20I batter and top-ranked T20I bowler enduring miserable tournaments. It's hard to find a clearer illustration of just how good India are, and just how deep their reserves of ability and experience run.

But do they run so deep that India could contemplate leaving either Abhishek Sharma or Varun Chakravarthy out of their XI for Sunday's final against New Zealand? The question almost sounds heretical, but it is being asked, if only by those on the outside peering in.

India should drop Abhishek Sharma for T20 World Cup final: Sunil Gavaskar

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has urged the team management to drop out-of-form opener Abhishek Sharma for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand. India will face the Blackcaps in the title clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Abhishek has endured a difficult campaign in the tournament, crossing the 50-run mark only once and repeatedly struggling against spin bowling. The left-handed batter has been dismissed by spinners on four occasions, with opposition teams increasingly deploying spin during the powerplay to exploit his weakness.

The 25-year-old’s struggles continued in the semi-final, where he managed just nine runs off seven balls before being dismissed by Will Jacks in the second over. His latest outing extended a lean run in the tournament, where he has recorded scores of 0, 0, 0, 15, 55, 10 and 9 — a tally of just 89 runs at an average of 12.71.
