The 2026 NFL free agency period kicked off Monday with the opening of the legal tampering period, where prospective free agents are officially able to negotiate with new teams. Those deals can officially be signed Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, which marks the official start of the new league year.

In addition to those deals, trades that were agreed to prior to the official start of free agency can also become official.

On Tuesday night, the Raiders suddenly announced that their trade that sent Maxx Crosby to Baltimore was off. The Raiders only said that the Ravens had “backed out” of the deal.

Ubisoft Gives Updates On Assassin's Creed Franchise, Including Hexe And Invictus, Alongside Black Flag Remake Tease

Last week, Ubisoft appointed three developers to a new leadership team in charge of the Assassin's Creed franchise, including making Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed: Origins creative director Jean Guesdon the new Head of Content for the series. Now, Ubisoft has delivered an overview of Assassin's Creed from Guesdon that details updates on Assassin's Creed Shadows, Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, Assassin's Creed Codename Invictus, and more, alongside a tease of a Black Flag remake.

Assassin's Creed Shadows launched last year on March 20, and turns one-year old in just a couple of weeks. Guesdon says as the team reaches this anniversary milestone, it is moving Shadows into its final phase of support. "At the same time, our teams will begin shifting more focus toward what's next for Assassin's Creed."

Liberal leadership hopeful Angus Taylor has endorsed the Coalition reunion as his allies weigh a move against Opposition Leader Sussan Ley this week with a woman as Taylor’s running mate.

Ley and Nationals leader David Littleproud backed down on Sunday from previously hardline stances as they revived the Liberal-National alliance after a bitter 17-day split that exposed the pair’s antagonistic relationship and clashes over policy.

As first reported by this masthead on Saturday, Littleproud agreed to a six-week suspension for rebel Nationals who crossed the floor over hate crimes laws introduced last month following the Bondi terror attack. Ley watered down the suspension from six months.

Playing through injuries, Taylor Fritz blames short off-season for slow start at Australian Open

Fritz began the year with a knee injury and eluded to other physical issues after a four-set win over Valentin Royer.

MELBOURNE, Australia—Tennis players are thought to be at their fittest when the season first gets underway, but Taylor Fritz pointed to the four-week off-season as responsible for more injured players at the Australian Open.

“Maybe the season is too long, I don't know,” Fritz said sarcastically after advancing past Valentin Royer, 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. “Maybe four weeks isn't enough to fully get healthy of all injuries.

“You know, it is what it is. You know, I think I laid a lot of groundwork in the off-season to get healthy. But at the same time the off-season is so short, you need to be like training hard in the off-season or else you come into the year feeling like you've not played enough matches or had enough time on court, which is very much how I feel.
