The “Something for Everyone” segment of the PGA TOUR season continues with this week’s ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.

Beginning with the Masters and extending six weeks, there are two majors, three Signature Events, a team competition and an Additional Event. It hits a little like a bingo card without the free space of a standard PGA TOUR event in the center, but that’ll be covered soon enough when the circuit returns to Texas in two weeks.

Brooks Koepka finally has a tee time. And an admirable mindset

Brooks Koepka, after a couple of weeks of waiting around for a tee time, finally has one at the Myrtle Beach Classic this week.

Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young and the top-ranked golfers in the world are in Charlotte this week, about to tee off for the Truist Championship with a purse of $20 million on the line. And 175 miles away, Brooks Koepka is in Myrtle Beach, an opposite-field event, playing for a purse just one fifth that size.

Don’t feel too bad for the guys at the Myrtle Beach Classic, where a win is still worth 300 FedExCup points and a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour. But it is worth pointing out Koepka actually has a tee time this week, a feat that hasn’t been a guarantee lately. The Myrtle Beach Classic will be his first individual stroke-play event since the Masters (he also played the Zurich Classic) — although not for lack of trying.

Elderly woman killed as summer storms bring down power poles

A fierce summer storm killed a 74-year-old woman in Chainat and caused major damage to electricity infrastructure in Chainat and Nakhon Pathom, with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) rushing to restore power in affected areas.

On Tuesday evening (May 5), Mueang Chainat Police Station was alerted to a storm that had brought down a large number of power poles, including one that fell onto a motorcycle and caused a fatality on Phahonyothin Road, along the Chainat-Takhli route, in Moo 3, Suea Hok subdistrict, Mueang district, Chainat.

Police, rescue workers and a doctor from Jainad Narendra Hospital went to the scene, where they found more than 30 power poles lying across the road and blocking traffic on the inbound side of Mueang Chainat. The incident also caused a power outage along the route.

Floods, power outages and hundreds evacuated as Cyclone Vaianu lashes New Zealand’s North Island

Cyclone crossed coast near Maketu peninsula, packing destructive winds exceeding 130km/h (80 mph), heavy rain and large swells

Cyclone Vaianu made landfall in New Zealand’s North Island on Sunday, triggering floods, power outages and forcing hundreds to evacuate.

The cyclone crossed the coast near the Maketu peninsula, packing destructive winds exceeding 130km/h (80 mph), heavy rain and large swells, national weather provider MetService said, describing Vaianu as a “life-threatening” system.

Authorities have placed several regions under emergency declarations and issued “red” level wind warnings, which are reserved for only the most extreme weather events.

The cyclone was tracking towards the fringes of the North Island, sparing Auckland, the country’s most populous city, from the worst conditions, said emergency management minister Mark Mitchell. But stronger winds and swells were still expected after its afternoon landfall.

Christopher Luxon hits back at Wairoa mayor Craig Little over woke comment

Christopher Luxon says he's happy to be labelled woke if it means New Zealanders are not losing their lives in the recent cyclone.

The Prime Minister held a briefing with reporters in Auckland on Monday afternoon, after Cyclone Vaianu's course shifted away from Hawke's Bay late on Sunday.

Hawke's Bay Regional Council, Napier, Hastings, and Central Hawke's Bay councils declared local states of emergency for coastal areas before midday on Saturday, but Wairoa mayor Craig Little refused – saying "we're becoming woke as a country when it comes to states of emergency".

"No, they're not. I love Craig, I've spent a lot of time with him given he's had some major weather events in Wairoa over the last few years, and so I'll happily wear a woke label this time if it means we didn't lose anyone's lives," he said.

Zebras, wealth and power: Hungary’s election tests Orbán’s grip on power

Corruption scandals and a surging opposition have turned the vote into the biggest test yet for the long-serving populist leader

The drone footage showed a sprawling residence in northern Hungary, complete with manicured gardens, a swimming pool and an underground garage. But it was what came next that captured much of the country’s imagination: zebras darting across the countryside.

The property caught on camera belongs to the father of the country’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán, offering a glimpse of the staggering wealth amassed by his inner circle, even as most in Hungary have become poorer. References to the zebras – which came from a neighbouring property belonging to Orbán’s best friend and Hungary’s richest man, Lőrinc Mészáros – soon began turning up across the country; plush toys were sold at protests, people posted videos of their own treks to spot the animals, and photos of zebras were plastered over government billboards.

Hungarians head to the polls in a high-stakes election

This Sunday, Hungary will vote in what is shaping up to be its most consequential election in decades.

With JD Vance stepping in and Europe watching closely, the result could reshape not just Hungary's future, but the direction of the European Union itself.

Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour on Power, Fashion, and Acting the Part in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Both Meryl and Anna arrive in yellow scarves, like a pair of generals in matching epaulets. We’re in a sprawling suite at the Crosby Street Hotel, and the occasion is a conversation with a timely premise: What happens when you put two Mirandas in a room? The filmmaker Greta Gerwig, who directed Meryl in 2019’s Little Women, is here too. As an avowed fan of the Devil Wears Prada films—DWP2 (as it’s known at Vogue) opens in theaters on May 1—she has kindly offered to act as moderator. My role is something akin to court stenographer.

The suite’s jaunty decor matches Meryl’s gauzy, sunny pashmina. Anna’s is more egg yolk in color and of a thicker, fringed cashmere. They catch up like old friends, discussing theater outings, politics, parenting, and grandparenting. Greta describes the emotional whiplash of returning home to young children after months away on set filming her forthcoming Narnia film (“They punished me on FaceTime,” she says, and Meryl nods knowingly). The winter temperatures outside are record-breaking; inside it feels almost cozy.

Anna Wintour shares Vogue cover with Hollywood doppelganger Meryl Streep

Vogue’s global editorial director says Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada ‘distant’ from the real her

After more than 30 years helming Vogue, and becoming a pop icon in the process, Anna Wintour has graced the cover of the fashion magazine alongside her Hollywood doppelganger, Meryl Streep.

The global editorial director of Vogue is photographed by Annie Leibovitz alongside Streep, who plays Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada, a brash, ruthless editor of a fashion magazine thought to be based on Wintour.

In an interview by the Barbie director, Greta Gerwig, Wintour said it was “such an honour to be played by Meryl” but suggested the character of Priestly was “distant” from the real Wintour. She called the character an “extraordinary gift”.

Meryl Streep Calls Out Melania Trump While Talking ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ With Anna Wintour for Vogue

The women, in a wide-ranging conversation led by Greta Gerwig for the new cover story, also touch on fashion, losing famous friends and their anticipation around the movie sequel.

Gird your loins: Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour have teamed up for Vogue‘s latest cover story, ahead of the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The conversation, moderated by Barbie and Little Women filmmaker Greta Gerwig (who is also directing Streep in her Netflix Narnia adaptation), was published on Tuesday, alongside photos of Streep and Wintour posing together in a private car and corporate elevator at a Runway-esque office.

Fans of the original 2006 film will know that Streep’s ice-cold magazine boss, Miranda Priestly, is loosely based on Wintour, who was editor-in-chief of American Vogue from 1988 to 2025. The Briton does acknowledge it’s “an honor” to be played by Streep — “however distant Miranda is from myself.”

Live: Tigers, Power at the MCG kick off an Easter double-header

Richmond kick off Easter Saturday football at the MCG looking for their first win of the season against Port Adelaide, before the Eagles host the Swans in Perth.

The Power has had a 1-2 start to the season under coach Josh Carr, while the Demons are 2-1 after their stunning comeback win over Carlton last weekend.

Later, Sydney will look to regain a spot in the top four against West Coast, as attacking star Isaac Heeney returns to the side.

Richmond got the early clarances, but Port Adelaide intercepted on half-back. They then drilled a pass downfield for debutant Mitch Zadow to take a solid grab.

Richmond (0-3) has picked up where it left off last year as it leaves fans guessing which version of the young side will turn up.

The Tigers started the season brightly when they gave Carlton a huge scare, but have since been well off the mark of challenging Gold Coast and Fremantle in a reality check of where they stand against the likes of the top-four hopefuls.

Richmond has made four changes ahead of its Round 4 clash against Port Adelaide at the MCG.

Excitingly, key forward Liam Fawcett has earned his call up into the senior side for the first time in 2026, following strong VFL showings across the first two rounds, where he kicked three majors.

Kane McAuliffe returns to the side for the second time this year, joined by Samson Ryan, who will pull on the jumper for the first time in 2026. Nathan Broad also comes into the side after overcoming his calf setback.

Power restored to homes and businesses after mass outage in Great Southern hits more than 25,000 customers

The 25,000 customers affected by the mass power outage that hit the Great Southern region on Thursday morning have had their power restored, according to Western Power..

The outage spanned almost 300km along the south coast, with residents in an area from Walpole in the west, Bremer Bay in the east and Kendenup in the north all affected.

Power was lost to the large swathes of the region at 8.51am, with approximately 25,529 customers losing power.

About 13,505 customers across the region had their power restored at 9.51am.

A Western Power spokesperson said the outage was due to a fault on the busbar, caused by trees affecting the infrastructure.

Western Power after the Great Southern outage: restoration complete as probe continues

western power crews restored electricity to more than 25, 000 customers after a widespread outage hit the Great Southern region, an event that cut supply along almost 300 kilometres of the south coast and left communities without power during morning hours.

Power was lost across a broad corridor at 8: 51am, affecting approximately 25, 529 customers across an area stretching from Walpole in the west to Bremer Bay in the east and reaching north to Kendenup. By 9: 51am, crews had restored supply to roughly 13, 505 customers. At 10: 00am, more than 12, 020 residents remained without power as restoration work continued.

Crews ultimately restored power to the remaining homes and businesses in Albany, Denmark and surrounding areas. A spokesperson for the network operator said the outage stemmed from a fault on the busbar caused by trees affecting network infrastructure. The busbar, the spokesperson noted, is a metallic strip that conducts and distributes power from one place to another.
