Mikel Arteta has named his side for this evening’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, with Kai Havertz given the nod to start up front.

The boss has made eight switches from his heavily-rotated starting XI that began our 2-1 win at Crystal Palace six days ago, with only Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapie and Myles Lewis-Skelly keeping their places.

The two defenders started at centre-back at Selhurst Park but will revert to the full-back positions, with Gabriel and William Saliba returning to the heart of our defence, with David Raya behind them.

Kai Havertz: ‘Just to watch the Champions League final is very special, to play in it is unreal’

Arsenal striker scored the winner in the final five years ago and is determined to make up for being ‘in a bad place’ when injured this season

When Kai Havertz thinks back to the 2021 Champions League final, he can’t help smiling. Chelsea’s surprise victory over Manchester City in Porto still feels like yesterday for the Germany striker.

“It is something I will never forget,” he says. “As a kid I could have never dreamed I would score a goal in the final and win that game. I will always be proud of it. I just try to take that feeling and hopefully it will happen again.”

Jurrien Timber returns to first team training ahead of UCL final

He may have done it in Chelsea blue, but Kai Havertz knows what it takes to win the Champions League, having scored the only goal of the 2021 final against Manchester City.

Just as Thomas Tuchel’s side were that day, Arsenal head into Saturday’s showdown with reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain as underdogs. The German, however, has no doubt the Gunners can get the job done.

It has not been an easy 18 months for Havertz. He missed much of last season’s run-in, including the two-legged semi-final defeat to the Parisians, and also sat out the first half of the current campaign. There were dark moments as he wrestled with his fitness, but the surgeries to repair hamstring and knee issues are now firmly behind him.

SANFL Team Selection: Round Seven v Glenelg

Adelaide veteran Taylor Walker will feature in his first SANFL game for Kuwarna since 2014, after being named in the line-up for the team’s clash against Glenelg on Saturday afternoon.

Walker’s inclusion in the team comes after he had missed the past two AFL matches with a minor hamstring strain.

Mitch Hinge will also make his return to competitive football after sustaining a moderate hamstring strain during the AFL side’s Gather Round win against Carlton last month.

The pair will be joined in the team alongside fellow AFL-listed players including Archie Ludowyke, Chayce Jones, Tyler Welsh, Mitchell Marsh, Lachlan Sholl, Charlie Edwards, Hugh Bond, Finnbar Maley, Oscar Ryan, Nick Murray, Indy Cotton, Billy Dowling and Reilly O’Brien.

Round 7 Hostplus SANFL League Match Previews

Adelaide's Taylor Walker will play his first Hostplus SANFL League game on Saturday since Round 5 of 2014, when the Crows and Magpies did battle at the Clare Oval.

The Eagles had been averaging a league-best 98 points per game when the Tigers set their sights on the top-placed side.

So what a huge effort from Matthew Clarke’s men to keep them to a mere 52.

The Bays hadn’t been happy with their performance the week before in a loss to South, so their response would have delighted Clarke.

“This was a positive reinforcement of what we have done so far this season,” he said of the 23-point win that left his men level at the top of the table with the Eags with impressive 5-1 records.

Commonwealth Games: Team uniforms for Australian athletes revealed

Australia’s Commonwealth Games stars will be suited and booted as they head to Glasgow, with each athlete to sport RM Williams boots as part of their team uniform.

The get-up for our Aussie athletes was revealed on Wednesday, with limited edition iconic boots the headline feature for the July event.

The usual green and gold will again be the hero colours for Australia, with dark green blazers featuring golden lining.

Aussie long jumper and hurdler Delta Amidzovski said she was thrilled to be donning the outfit for what will be her first Games at the age of just 19.

“It definitely represents much more than just putting on a piece of clothing,” she said.

R.M.Williams unveils Team Australia uniforms for the 2026 Commonwealth Games

As the countdown to the 2026 Commonwealth Games begins, Team Australia will step onto the global stage wearing ceremonial and village uniforms designed by iconic Australian heritage brand R.M.Williams, in partnership with Commonwealth Games Australia.

Eight years after first designing uniforms for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, R.M.Williams continues its role as a legacy uniform partner to Commonwealth Games Australia, celebrating an ongoing commitment to Australian sport, craftsmanship and culture.

The ceremonial and village uniforms are distinctly Australian in look and spirit, drawing on the country’s green and gold sporting heritage, with Indigenous design elements woven through graphics and detailing. At their heart is a strong sense of unity, with artwork symbolising the athletes coming together as one team.

RD 7 TEAM: Gunston headlines five changes

Jack Gunston is one of five inclusions for Saturday's match against Gold Coast.

Hawthorn has made five changes for its ANZAC Day match against the Gold Coast SUNS at UTAS Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

As confirmed by Sam Mitchell on Thursday morning, premiership forward Jack Gunston will return to the side after missing last week's three-point victory with a corked calf.

He will be joined in the team by Jack Dalton, Finn Maginness, Harry Morrison and Jack Scrimshaw.

James Sicily and Dylan Moore have been ruled out through suspension, Sam Butler and Flynn Perez will be managed, while Will McCabe has been omitted.

Breakout Hawks star cherishes new role ahead of big Anzac Day test

Resurgent Hawthorn spearhead Mitch Lewis has declared their goal to be the best forward line in the AFL as the Hawks look to take down Gold Coast in Saturday's Anzac Day blockbuster at Launceston.

While plenty of focus will be on Suns key forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's Suns debut, Lewis has made up for a frustrating few years with injuries with outstanding early season form.

The 27-year-old played just 12 games across 2024 and 2025, but has been a standout in a stacked forward line also featuring Jack Gunston and Nick Watson.

Lewis is uncontracted after this season but hopes the club will keep the band together.

Big boost for Hawks as star returns for Anzac Day clash

Hawthorn spearhead Jack Gunston will return from injury for the Hawks' Round 7 test against Gold Coast in Launceston on Saturday.

Gunston was absent from last week's win against Port Adelaide due to a corked calf.

Gunston's availability presents a selection challenge for Mitchell and his match committee, with fellow tall forwards Mitch Lewis, Calsher Dear and Will McCabe all performing well in the narrow win against the Power.

The Hawks will need to replace veterans James Sicily and Dylan Moore, who were both handed one-game suspensions for striking.

Star midfielder Will Day is progressing well after he underwent a shoulder reconstruction in January, following a dislocation in his third session back with the main group. Day has endured a wretched run with injury, having missing the start of 2024 with a stress fracture in his navicular bone, before two more issues with the same foot the following year limited him to just six games in 2025.

West Coast's final 23 has been confirmed ahead of Western Derby No.62

Important trio Elliot Yeo, Jamie Cripps and Milan Murdock are locked in to return for Western Derby No.62 at Optus Stadium.

Yeo and Murdock are both back from injury lay-offs, while Cripps was managed from the Gather Round clash against Geelong.

Midfielders Deven Robertson (knee) and Jack Graham (shoulder) have both been forced out of the team, while forward Matt Owies has been omitted.

West Coast leads the overall Western Derby record 33-28 and will be aiming to notch an upset on Sunday in front of their home crowd.

Eagles ruckman Williams relishes chance to take on Dockers’ ruck giants

West Coast ruckman Bailey Williams is facing one of the toughest tests of his career as he prepares to shoulder an immense burden in the biggest game of the Eagles’ season.

For Williams, western derby 62 will be all about trying to stop Fremantle’s dynamic and different ruck duo that threaten to be one of the biggest differences between the bitter rivals.

The Dockers have arguably the most talented and athletic ruckman in the game, Luke Jackson, whose form has been pivotal to their bright start to the season.

And they will unveil their trump card in former Collingwood cult hero Mason Cox in Sunday’s epic derby clash.

It's a big afternoon at the MCG as Melbourne look to bounce back from last week's surprise loss to Essendon. But to do so they face reigning premiers Brisbane, who are celebrating two milestone games in this one as well.

As if beating Brisbane wasn't hard enough doing it in Lachie Neale's 300th and Josh Dunkley's 200th adds an extra layer of difficulty. That being said, Melbourne's best win of last season was when they took down the Lions by 11 points at the Gabba, so it may not be beyond them either.

    Young Crow to debut

Young Crow Charlie Edwards will make his AFL debut against St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old was selected as a midfielder with pick No.21 at the 2023 AFL Draft, before making a switch to half-back last year in the SANFL.

Edwards, however, returned to the Crows’ midfield fold this pre-season, and earned an AFL debut after putting together a strong bout of form in the Club’s recent SANFL games.

Across the opening two SANFL games this season, Edwards has averaged 24.5 disposals, six clearances and eight inside-50s.

Crows Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said Edwards deserved an opportunity after consistent hard work and dedication since he arrived at the Club.

Team Selection: Round 6 v Adelaide

St Kilda has finalised its team to face Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

The Saints will make just one change to the side that defeated Port Adelaide at the same ground on Sunday, as they look to take their third win of the season.

St Kilda coach Ross Lyon speaks to media ahead of the Saints' clash with the Adelaide Crows, thanks to Westinghouse.

Liam Stocker will return to the side, replacing Alix Tauru (managed). Stocker makes his way back into the side after entering concussion protocols following the VFL Easter Sunday clash with the Tigers.

The game will be played at 7:35pm AEST on Saturday, and will be broadcast live on Fox Footy and Kayo.
