    When Jaclyn Fenech first enrolled to study architecture at university, she had plans of pursuing it as a career.

    That was until she took on an elective subject in museum studies, and her plans immediately shifted.

    "I was like, 'Wait, this is way more interesting to me than what I thought architecture was going to be'," she tells nine.com.au.

    It wasn't long before she had transferred her studies to a degree in art theory, with dreams of one day working in the space of museum curation.

    "I suppose what I really loved and what I really wanted to do after uni was to create experiences for other people to enjoy," she says.

    Nando’s has begun recruiting staff for its new Llandudno store in Conwy. But the South African restaurant chain has said it will be some time before the store opens for business.

    Managerial roles are being advertised on the company’s website with an April 20 deadline for applications. The company is set to take over a unit at 2A Mostyn Street.

    Already the Llandudno restaurant is listed on Google Maps with two reviews. However Nando’s said the store won’t be serving its famous flame-grilled peri-peri chicken until 2027.

    Nando’s confirms North Wales seaside town opening as recruitment gets underway!

    NANDO'S has kicked off recruitment as it prepares to open a brand-new restaurant in Llandudno, officially confirming its arrival in the popular seaside town.

    The well-loved South African-owned chain, famous for its flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, is set to take over a unit at 2A Mostyn Street.

    Two full-time roles – Assistant Manager and Assistant General Manager – have been listed on the company’s official website in recent days, signalling that preparations for the opening are well underway. The closing date for applications is April 20.

    As part of the job description, Nando’s said: “We do things a bit differently round here. More than just a job, we have each other’s backs, we inspire each other and we don’t take ourselves too seriously – we’re family.

    McRae buoyant about Hill return as Collingwood confirms debutant

    Collingwood coach Craig McRae has hinted at a potential shorter-than-expected return-to-play timeline for livewire small forward Bobby Hill.

    Speaking for the first time since the 2023 Norm Smith Medalist returned to training after an extended period of personal leave, McRae was reluctant to put an exact timeline on his return, but spoke of the positivity about his return.

    “To see Bobby smiling is encouraging for all of us,” McRae said.

    “To see him fit and well and healthy, he worked really hard inside, we're conscious he's in pre-season mode now but to the eye I think he's a bit fitter than what we thought he would be, so we're excited to have him back."

    If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing an Aurora Australis, this could be your moment. Space weather forecasts are predicting a geomagnetic storm on Thursday, 19 March 2026, and for some lucky southern states, that means a light show worth pausing your evening plans for.

    And while visibility of these events can sometimes be restricted to the southern parts of Australia, according to NOAA, this storm is rated 'G2'— which could make the aurora visible much further north than usual. Here's what you need to know to get a glimpse.

    You don’t have to travel to Antarctica to see this  — the aurora australis is predicted to be visible from parts of Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and parts of southern NSW.

    The Muslim holy month of Ramadan is almost over, which means that Eid al-Fitr is coming soon.

    At the end of that month – during which Muslims do not eat or drink at all during the daylight hours – they get to break their fast and celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

    Eid Al Fitr 2026 in UAE: Shawwal crescent moon sighting across the world

    Several Muslim-majority countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, will attempt to sight the Shawwal crescent today (Wednesday) evening, marking the 29th day of Ramadan. Other countries conducting moon sightings today include Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and parts of Iraq.

    Astronomical calculations suggest the crescent will be invisible worldwide on Wednesday, as it is expected to set before sunset. In other regions, including Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Egypt and North Africa, Thursday will be the 29th day of Ramadan, with moon sightings scheduled after sunset. Eid Al Fitr in these countries is expected on Friday or Saturday, depending on confirmed sightings.
