3 former Hill Air Force Base daycare providers charged with simple assault against toddlers, young children

Three women who previously worked at Hill Air Force Base as daycare providers have been charged with simple assault against toddlers and young children entrusted to their care, according to a release from the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Utah.

Two are Davis County residents – Karlie Brook Rainey, 29, of Clearfield, and Patricia Michelle Davis, 28, of Layton – while Allison Shea Ferdon, 32, is of Carrollton, Virginia, and the three were charged with three separate misdemeanor informations, the release stated.

“Court documents allege that, in December 2022, Rainey repeatedly covered a crying child’s face with a pillow, covered the child’s mouth with her hand, pushed the child’s face into the floor, and pinned the child in a corner for over 20 minutes,” the release stated.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Three former employees were charged with assault after they were accused of harming 11 children while working at the Hill Air Force Base daycare center.

The former employees were charged Friday with multiple counts of simple assault of a child, according to officials with the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Utah.

Karlie Brook Rainey, 29, Patricia Michelle Davis, 28, and Allison Shea Ferdon, 32, were charged in separate assault cases.

According to court documents, Rainey was accused of repeatedly covering a child's face with a pillow, pushing them to the floor and pinning them in a corner for over 20 minutes. The alleged incidents took place in December 2022.

Former daycare workers at Hill Air Force Base charged with 'roughly handling,' assaulting children

SALT LAKE CITY — The U.S. Attorney's Office of Utah announced Thursday that three former daycare workers at Hill Air Force Base have been criminally charged with assaulting children.

Karlie Brook Rainey, 29, of Clearfield, Patricia Michelle Davis, 28, of Layton, and Allison Shea Ferdon, 32, of Carrollton, Virginia, were charged in federal court on Sept. 16 with misdemeanors of simple assault. Many of the alleged incidents were caught on video footage at the daycare, court documents said.

Court documents state that the young children and toddlers who were assaulted were entrusted to their care at the Hill Air Force Base Child Development Center.
