Fans Mourn as the Man Behind ‘Scream’s’ Most Fateful Secret Has Died at 72
Few horror films have left as deep a mark as Wes Craven’s ‘Scream‘. The 1996 slasher didn’t just revive the genre, it built a franchise around secrets, betrayals and one of the most recognizable killers in movie history. Behind the masked Ghostface was a web of family drama that gave the story its emotional spark.
At the center of that web were the parents of Woodsboro, whose choices set the tragedy in motion. One of them, the father of the killer Billy Loomis, appears in only a handful of scenes but casts a long shadow over the story. The actor who played him, C.W. Morgan, was a quiet but essential part of what made the original film work.
