Fans of Formula 1 – and there’s something like 76 million tuning in to watch grand prix weekends – are gearing up for another titanic battle on Monday morning.
This one will be fought out in Austin, Texas, in front of a record-breaking crowd.
Faced with much intrigue of why he was sacked, Christian Horner has stayed largely silent – until now. 60 Minutes
For 20 years he was the team principal of Red Bull, transforming the energy drinks company into a motor racing juggernaut.
In that time, he’s worked with great drivers in Australia’s Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo and most recently the extraordinary Dutchman, Max Verstappen.
Five surprising things we learned from Horner's book
Christian Horner's memoir ‘Drive' is released today, telling the story of how he started out as an aspiring Formula 1 driver before becoming one of the most successful team bosses of all time.
Prior to our extensive interview with Christian Horner last week, which is available both on YouTube and in podcast form, we read every page and have picked out five attention-grabbing – and previously little-known – things that caught our eye.
When he was racing in Formula 3, Horner was briefly on Lotus's books as what we'd today call a junior driver. This came with a price, with a £170,000 "annual fee" that Horner explains battling to raise – with a little help suspected to have come from a certain Nigel Mansell.

Horner says Alpine offers no route back to Formula 1
Christian Horner says he would seriously consider the right opportunity to return to Formula 1, but does not currently see Alpine as the team that could provide it.
The former Red Bull team principal has repeatedly been linked with the Enstone operation, where Flavio Briatore has been directing a recovery program and the ownership structure has attracted outside investment.
Horner played down that possibility when asked about his future by Sky.
If the right opportunity in a team existed, I'd certainly consider it seriously, he said. Right here, right now, I don't see that at Alpine.
He added that he was not pursuing a specific opening and was content to spend time away from the day-to-day demands of the championship.
