Steam had a bad start to the week on Monday, with thousands of users reporting that a "loading user data" issue was preventing them from logging in — but it now seems to be fixed.

Steam down for hundreds of PC users as gamers get locked out of libraries

Some Steam users are having trouble logging into their accounts after a wide outage has been reported.

The Steam outage was reported earlier this morning, with the first reports coming in around 9 AM GMT according to DownDetector.

This escalated throughout the morning, with a larger influx of reports occuring around 11 AM GMT. As of 12:08 PM, 240 reports have been made on the website.

The issue seems to have affected players trying to access the Steam client on desktop, with many users reporting that they're met with a Loading User Data loading screen, and are unable to get past this screen to reach their game libraries.

Is Steam Down? Everything We Know About the October 26 Outage.

Reports of Steam login problems are piling up across the globe, with Valve yet to explain what’s causing the disruption.

Some Steam users are having trouble accessing their library this morning, instead getting stuck on the same screen with an endlessly spinning loading wheel. It isn’t clear yet what has caused the issue, and it seems that simple fixes such as uninstalling then reinstalling Steam aren’t helping.

It looks like users are unable to access their library or open the Steam app at all. Making an attempt only results in being trapped on a “Loading user data…” screen. Users on the Steam community page have mentioned that they were able to use Steam with no issues yesterday, so the problem just started this morning.
