NEW YORK (WABC) — Tens of thousands of runners will race across the five boroughs in the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The iconic 26.2-mile course travels through all five boroughs, starting in Staten Island, traversing the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, and crossing through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx, before ending at its famed Central Park finish line.
It's NYC Marathon Sunday! NYPD steps up security for 60,000 runners
About 60,000 runners will take to the streets across all five boroughs for the New York City Marathon Sunday, with millions of spectators expected and additional New York City police planned along the route.
Police say there are no credible threats to this year’s marathon. The NYPD is deploying additional officers, vehicles and thousands of barricades.
Major road closures begin overnight, including the upper level of the Verrazzano Bridge. Officials are urging everyone to use mass transit and expect delays.
“Cops will be out there to keep you safe, but we ask everyone to stay alert. If you see something, please say something.” Tisch said.
