Queensland best friends Courtney Kain and Sevilay Keser have won the 2026 season of reality renovation TV show The Block after their house soared $1.27 million above its reserve at auction.
The winning home at 9 Mackillop Place, Mount Eliza sold for $4.72 million to a couple buying a weekender, on a day when all five houses sold, in defiance of Melbourne’s weak property market.
The besties will also pocket the $100,000 winner’s cheque, as well as a new prize called “Scotty’s Prize Pool” featuring a collection of cash, vehicles, luxury items, and home upgrades valued collectively at about $500,000. The Block airs on Nine, owner of this masthead.
The Block auction sparks scrutiny as selling agency bids for buyer

The Block winners Courtney and Sev’s $1.27m auction haul has raised eyebrows after the underbidder used an auctioneer from the same firm selling the home to bid for them.
It can also be revealed that buyer effectively had two proxies in the auction room, both authorised to bid on their behalf — though for different homes.
Courtney and Sev became the most successful contestants in the show’s history with a combined haul of $1.87m, including the value of prizes won during the show’s filming earlier in the year as well as a $100,000 bonus for the biggest sale price.

The paint had dried and the tools had been packed away, but the biggest test for The Block contestants was still to come.
After months of renovations, challenges and plenty of drama, all five teams on the Nine reality television series headed into Sunday night's auctions in Melbourne's Mount Eliza hoping their hard work would pay off.
But no one could have predicted just how extraordinary the day would be, with Queensland best friends Courtney and Sev making The Block history by walking away with a staggering $1.87 million, including prize money.
