‘Rest easy’: Sam Kerr shares heartbreaking family update
Sam Kerr has shared a heartbreaking family update with her soccer fans across the world, announcing the death of her beloved dog Billie.
The 33-year-old soccer superstar took to social media to share the tragic news with her 1.6 million Instagram followers on Tuesday.
“After 12 and a half years, we’ve sadly said goodbye to our Billie,” she wrote.
“We hit the jackpot with her & she’s the dog we will talk about forever! Rest easy my Bill, thanks for all the memories.”
The Matildas legend’s tribute post included several adorable photos of the boxer with Kerr seen hugging Billie on sunset beach outings.

The live-action adaptation of Matilda’s legend Sam Kerr’s children’s series Kicking Goals has been secured to film in Western Australia.
Produced by Orange Entertainment for Paramount+, Sam Kerr Kicking Goals is based on the popular children’s book series co-written by Sam Kerr and Fiona Harris.
The series follows a young Sam Kerr, before she became captain of the Matildas and Chelsea FC, as an 11-year-old in Western Australia learning life lessons long the path to greatness along with her best friends, juggling school, family, football, and all the obstacles and adventures of growing up.
Secured to film in Western Australia through the Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive administered by Screenwest, the series will inject more than $5 million into the state.
