US president rhapsodized about ballroom features for more than 20 minutes, with no mention of Democratsâ âblue waveâ
Less than 24 hours after suffering historic party losses in the US midterm elections, Donald Trump gathered reporters and network TV cameras at the White House to congratulate his team.
âThe whole thing is a miracle, and itâs all because of you,â the US president said into a microphone on Wednesday afternoon.
He was not referring to the blue wave that swept the country as Democrats retook control of the US Congress, but his controversial White House ballroom.
Standing on the construction site on Wednesday, the US president boasted about the ballroomâs âmagnificentâ columns carved out of limestone, 50ft-high ceilings, ability to hold more than 300 guests, heavy-set beams, âdrone-proofâ roof, thick marble floors and military-grade bunker.

By just before midnight, he was saying it was all because of his formerly favorite TV network. âFox News,â he complained, âbears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Dumocrat opposition, and worse.â
