South Australia hit back, dare to dream of epic chase

Mackenzie Harvey and captain Nathan McSweeney led a fourth-innings fightback against WA

South Australia have given themselves a chance of pulling off the improbable, moving to 1-182 in their second innings to set up a blockbuster final day Sheffield Shield showdown against Western Australia.

Set a mammoth 422 for victory in the round three clash, and having been skittled for 154 in their first innings, SA could have been forgiven for merely batting for survival at Adelaide Oval.

Things looked even bleaker for South Australia when Jhye Richardson dismissed Jake Weatherald for 24, leaving the home side at 1-42.

But South Australia aren't the two-time defending champions for no reason.
