There's groans from the crowd, though, when Kim Si-woo rolls his putt just wide of the hole at the 17th and has to tap in for par.

Kim needs an eagle on the last – the toughest hole on the course.

His bid to become the first Asian winner of the Claret Jug looks to be over.

Sam Burns looks frustrated as his second shot goes left of the green.

The Open 2026: fourth and final round heading for tense finish at Royal Birkdale – live

🏌️Updates from the final day’s play at Royal Birkdale
🏌️Official leaderboard | Mail Scott with your thoughts

Fox puts for the lead … but the ball dribbles off to the right. Not so straight after all. He walks off with par, shaking his head. Par for Burns, who now has to birdie the last in the hope of forcing a play-off. Fox just needs par on 18 … or birdie for the Claret Jug! What an Open! This is going right down to the wire!

Ryan Fox is forced to whip his ball out of the bunker while standing on the fairway, leaning in. He catches plenty of the ball and advances it up the hole. Good core strength, sir. He then wedges to ten feet, and will have a straight uphill putt for birdie and the outright lead. In the meantime, Sam Burns, having pulled his second to the left, can’t wedge close and he’ll have to make to do with par. He wears the look of a man who knows his race is run.

Live updates: US military says it has completed seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran

    • A week of US strikes: The US military completed its latest wave of strikes against Iran on Friday, Central Command said, marking the seventh consecutive night of its renewed bombing campaign. This comes after Tehran launched another wave in its widening series of attacks on US allies in the region.

    • Tehran warns the US: A top Iranian military adviser warned the US could face a “full-scale offensive” in the coming days if its barrage continues through the weekend. Tehran has also threatened key ports in Gulf states, in response to the US destroying a surveillance tower near the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency.

US launches seventh night of Iran strikes as Hormuz conflict escalates

Central Command says attacks were designed to ‘continue degrading Iranian military capabilities’

The US military said it had launched a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran on Friday night as fighting escalated over the strait of Hormuz.

US Central Command, in a post on X, said the strikes, which began at 7pm GMT, were designed to “continue degrading Iranian military capabilities”.

Iranian media reported explosions heard or strikes carried out in the cities of Sirik, Ahvaz and Yazd.

And late on Friday night Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said two oil tankers had hit mines in Hormuz and exploded. The US military said that claim was false.

Live: Trump claims China acquired personal information of 220m US voters

Several reactions today have speculated that US President Donald Trump is laying the groundwork to dispute the results of the midterm elections scheduled for November 3.

The midterms decide the make-up of the House of Representatives and a third of the Senate.

That's a a big deal for the president, as it will decide how much power he has to get laws passed.

Even now, he is struggling to push unpopular legislation through Congress, and that's expected to get a lot harder after Americans have gone to the polls.

The party of the sitting president tends to lose seats at midterm elections.

Key takeaways from Donald Trump’s speech on election security

The president claimed China and ‘deep state’ actors had deceived US voters, but critics say his claims were misleading.

United States President Donald Trump has delivered an extraordinary primetime speech, alleging government “cover-ups” and “vulnerability” in the nation’s electoral system.

But experts were quick to point out that Trump failed to present any conclusive evidence that past presidential elections had been swayed by malfeasance.

In many ways, Trump’s speech on Thursday revisited any themes familiar to the Republican leader.

He made broad accusations about a “deep state” conspiracy involving his Democratic predecessors, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and he lashed out at familiar foes, including the news media and China.

Warnings issued about Donald Trump’s national address before it happens

Donald Trump has accused China of manipulating the 2020 election and stealing a massive trove of voter data in a bizarre speech to the nation.

Trump also said China sought to influence American media to write negative articles about him.

“They wanted to make you sound like your president wasn’t so hot,” he said.

“The Chinese government wanted the president to lose the next election.”

He said China sought to pay American journalists to write negative stories about him. He did not name any of the reporters.

Federal politics live: Pauline Hanson says daughter Lee is the 'future', has 'potential' to run One Nation

The One Nation leader sits down for a podcast conversation with UK far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Follow live.

Health Minister Mark Butler has defended the prime minister's decision to break a promise and not to attend the Garma Festival this weekend.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised last year to attend every Garma Festival as prime minister.

But speaking to Channel Seven, Butler says he's gone to the festival more than any other leader of a political party.

"He's been there every year since he became leader. He's off to the Northern Territory again in coming days to visit another festival," he says.

‘She’s the future’: Hanson reveals daughter could lead One Nation

London: One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has named her daughter as a potential leader of the party during a controversial podcast with right-wing activist Tommy Robinson over the threat to Australia and Britain from mass migration.

Hanson praised her daughter, Lee, but said she would have to prove herself because there would be no nepotism in decisions on the future of the party.

The remarks, recorded last week, have been released online at a highly sensitive time for One Nation and its leadership because of tensions over Hanson’s working holiday in Europe and her decision to speak to Robinson, a divisive figure who has been convicted of assault.

Welcome to our rolling live coverage of all the latest news and developments around Australia and the world this Friday, July 17.

A handful of oil tankers have been seen conducting ship-to-ship transfers off the coast of Oman, a sign that ships are continuing to sail through the Strait of Hormuz before offloading their cargoes onto other vessels after recent Iranian attacks on shipping.

At least four tankers were transferring cargoes near the ports of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates and Sohar in Oman, satellite images from the European Union’s Copernicus browser showed.

Those areas have been the main spots where ships shuttling in and out of Hormuz have transferred their cargoes onto vessels that would ultimately sail on to their eventual destination.

Oil prices surge as US, Iran trade strikes over Strait of Hormuz

Trump reinstating naval blockade of Iranian ports

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz.

The blockade would stop "Iran's ships or customers" from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but "all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait", he said in a social media post.

Trump insisted the strait "will remain OPEN, with or without Iran". Iran earlier said it would not allow the US to "interfere" in management of the waterway, which it said was closed.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait's control on Monday after exchanging another wave of strikes in the region overnight.

US and Iran vie for Strait of Hormuz in latest attacks

Dubai: The United States and Iran each asserted on Monday they controlled the Strait of Hormuz after a weekend of attacks stretching across the wider Middle East, further threatening any diplomacy to end the war.

The attacks, sparked by Iran striking a container ship on Sunday in the strait off the coast of Oman, again underlined that the waterway that once saw a fifth of the world’s traded crude oil and natural gas pass through it remained the key issue in negotiations. The narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf has seen shipping disrupted since the start of the war as Iran maintained a chokehold on it by attacking commercial vessels around it, intimidating shippers.

Match Preview: Desperate Tigers pose huge threat

The One New Zealand Warriors face a huge challenge from a desperate Wests Tigers side determined to get its finals quest back on track at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in Sydney tonight.

Benji Marshall's men have struggled over the past couple of months and suffered a shock defeat to the Dragons last weekend.
