The UFC's undisputed light heavyweight championship will be on the line in April, as Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will meet for the vacant title at UFC 327.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the 205-pound title fight on Friday. The announcement means that former champion Alex Pereira, who has previously stated an interest in moving up to heavyweight, has vacated the belt.

White did not comment on Pereira's title reign coming to an end. Pereira's team did not immediately respond to ESPN's requests for comment.

The new light heavyweight title matchup will headline UFC 327 on April 11 inside Kaseya Center in Miami.

Breaking: Dana White Announces UFC 327 Headliners

On Friday, Dana White went live on his Instagram with major breaking news regarding UFC 327. The event takes place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on Apr. 11. UFC 327 will be headlined by a vacant light heavyweight title clash between Carlos Ulberg and former champion Jiri Prochazka.

The decision to crown a new light heavyweight champion came after Alex Pereira chose to vacate the title. Pereira reclaimed the title last year with an impressive 1st round knockout of Magomed Ankalaev, avenging his loss earlier in that year.

Pereira’s decision to vacate comes as he aims to make history as the first ever three-division UFC champion. It seems that the promotion will give him the chance. As a result, Ulberg and Prochazcka will face off to crown a new champion and keep the division moving.

Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg title bout set for UFC 327 headliner

Alex Pereira is no longer the champion of the UFC light heavyweight division, and with that comes a title fight for the vacant belt.

Pereira, one of the UFC's biggest stars, has vacated his title, and now Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will compete to see who's the new king of the division. The two top contenders are set to clash in the main event of UFC 327, which is scheduled to go down on April 11 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

UFC CEO Dana White officially announced the matchup on Instagram Live Friday evening.

Prochazka (32-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) looks to reclaim his title, as he crowned himself champion in 2022. However, an injury forced him to vacate his belt, and he's been unable to reclaim it since, falling short on two different occasions against Pereira, who beat him both times by TKO. Prochazka had a fruitful 2025. He picked up TKO wins over former champion Jamahal Hill and former UFC title challenger Khalil Rountree Jr. to put behind his second defeat against "Poatan."
