Toby Greene on GWS-Geelong future decision, impact of Zak Butters call

GWS captain Toby Greene says he still hasn't decided on his future as Geelong continues to push hard for his signature.

Greene has been linked to the Cats for the past fortnight and has been forthcoming about his process and where he's at with the decision.

Despite speculation about his future, with reports indicating he'll stay at the Giants, the goal-kicker confirmed he hasn't made a decision.

"I haven't made the decision," he said on the Ausmerican Aces podcast.

"That was out of nowhere. It was pulled out of the hat. I don't know myself."

The Cats were also heavily into Zak Butters, who recently nominated the Western Bulldogs as his preferred destination.

Geelong’s eye-watering Toby Greene contract offer revealed after Zak Butters chooses Bulldogs

Geelong have increased their offer to Toby Greene to a three-year deal worth an eye-watering $3 million, reports Channel 7’s Caroline Wilson.

The out-of-contract GWS captain, turning 33 next Friday, is seriously wrestling over his future and aware he now needs to make a decision on sticking with the only club he has known or heading home to Victoria.

He already owns a home in the Surf Coast region but has spoken openly of his desire to lead the Giants to a maiden premiership — and how much it would break his heart to see them do it without him.

“My mind’s f***ing ticking,” Greene said on his Ausmerican Aces podcast on Tuesday.
